Reversible Recovery of Nanoimprinted Polymer Structures
Langmuir, 2013A shape memory polymer, Nafion, has its shape memory simultaneously programmed and patterned with micro- and nanometer-scale surface textures using a nanoimprint process. Highly ordered and well-defined micro- and nanometer surface textures, for example, high aspect ratio (~5) micropillars, form the permanent shape memory of the Nafion films.

β-Xylosidase Recovery by Reversed Micelles
Applied Biochemistry and Biotechnology, 2000β-Xylosidase, an enzyme produced by Penicillium janthinellum fungus, was prepurified by fractionated precipitation with ethanol and extracted by reversed micelles of N-benzyl-N-dodecyl-N-bis(2-hydroxyethyl) ammonium chloride (BDBAC) cationic surfactant.

Reverse recovery failure modes in modern fast recovery diodes
2000 22nd International Conference on Microelectronics. Proceedings (Cat. No.00TH8400), 2002In this paper, reverse recovery failure modes in modern fast power diodes are investigated. By the aid of semiconductor device simulation tools, a better view is obtained for the physical process, and operating conditions at which both diode snappy recovery and dynamic avalanching phenomenas occur during the recovery period in modern high frequency ...

Energy recovery circuits using reversible and partially reversible logic
IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems I: Fundamental Theory and Applications, 1996This paper presents a new family of logic gates for low energy computing using pulsed power CMOS logic. The logic gates use the principles of adiabatic-switching and results show that in typical cases 90% of the energy can be recovered with operating frequency around 1 MHz.

Desalination, 1990
Abstract As a means to minimize or eliminate brine disposal problems, high recovery RO must be accompanied by pre- or post-treatment to avoid scale precipitation, almost entirely by CaSO4. All such methods will add to water cost. However, rigorous comparison must be made with the costs and constraints of brine disposal at recoveries low enough not ...

Metal recovery from reverse osmosis concentrate
Journal of Cleaner Production, 2009Abstract The use of reverse osmosis (RO) membranes is becoming increasingly common in desalination plants, though disposal of the highly concentrated brines poses significant environmental risks. The targeted extraction of some metals from the concentrate can have multiple environmental and economic benefits. This is particularly apparent with recent

Reverse recovery current in virtual diodes
2019 Joint International EUROSOI Workshop and International Conference on Ultimate Integration on Silicon (EUROSOI-ULIS), 2019The switching of a diode from ON to OFF state causes a temporarily high reverse current. We show that such reverse recovery current also occurs in electrostatically doped diodes fabricated in ultrathin FD-SOI film. Since the HP diode features adaptable doping-level controlled by the front and back gates, the recovery current varies accordingly. Virtual

Shower Water Recovery by Reverse Osmosis
SAE Technical Paper Series, 1987<div class="htmlview paragraph">Boeing Aerospace Company (BAC) is currently supporting studies in non-phase change methods for recovering wash water generated by space vehicle crews. The reverse osmosis technology appears to be promising for this application.

Eelgrass recovery after nutrient enrichment reversal
Aquatic Botany, 2010Abstract Mumford Cove, a 48 ha Connecticut embayment on Long Island Sound, has a history of excessive nutrient inputs and corresponding eutrophic conditions with concomitant eelgrass ( Zostera marina L.) loss. From 1945 to 1987, a municipal wastewater treatment facility discharged into the cove.

Prediction of PIN diode reverse recovery
2004 IEEE 35th Annual Power Electronics Specialists Conference (IEEE Cat. No.04CH37551), 2004Generally, the reverse recovery issue of diode is difficult to deal with, which causes large added loss and EMI. Different down slopes for diode reverse voltage mean different working conditions, and this paper shows you the general concept with different down slopes and how to predict the reverse recovery current to calculate the relative switching ...
