Nonlinear absorption study in four and five energy level systems
Nonlinear absorption in four and five energy level systems have been studied with the aid of steady-state rate equation approach. We report on the tunability of saturable and reverse saturable absorption as a function of spectroscopic parameters ...

Magnetic doping of the topological insulator Bi2Te3 with erbium adatoms induces out‐of‐plane magnetism and breaks time‐reversal symmetry, opening a Dirac gap and driving a Fermi surface transition from hexagonal to star‐of‐David geometry. Microscopy, spectroscopy, and magnetic dichroism reveal atomically controlled magnetic interactions that tailor the

Thickness‐ and Wavelength‐Dependent Nonlinear Optical Absorption in 2D Layered MXene Films
As a rapidly expanding family of 2D materials, MXenes have recently gained considerable attention. Herein, by developing a coating method that enables transfer‐free and layer‐by‐layer film coating, the nonlinear optical absorption (NOA) of Ti3C2Tx MXene ...

The water permeability of amorphous carbon dots (CDs) is demonstrated by investigating their plasticization. Novel polyamide‐based and amorphous nanoparticles are synthesized by controlling their inner packing density. Water plasticization is evidenced by the decrease of the CDs glass transition temperature with increasing the hydration degree.

2D α‐Co(OH)2 interleaved with Mo species displays an appealing dual functionality for the production and use of green hydrogen.Mo incorporation greatly benefits the electrochemical behaviour in Oxygen Evolution Reaction for H2 production, while the magnetocaloric response at liquid H2 temperature paves the way for alternative cryogenic refrigerants ...

Generation of Different Mode-Locked States in Nonlinear Multimodal Interference-Based Fiber Lasers
A novel mode-locking method based on nonlinear multimode interference (NLMI) using a distributed large-core (105 μm) graded-index multimode fiber (GIMF)-based saturable absorber (SA) capable of generating four pulse modes is proposed.

Flexible Dielectric Acoustic Resonator Patch for Tissue Regeneration
A flexible dielectric acoustic resonator patch enables MHz‐range ultrasound generation through resonance amplification without using piezoelectric materials. Conformal integration on a curved substrate allows efficient acoustic delivery to tissue‐mimicking environments.

Preparation of charge transfer salt/polymer composites, and characterisation by saturable absorption [PDF]
This thesis describes the preparation of microcrystalline dispersions of a series of organic semiconductors (the alkali metal salts of tetracyanoquinodimethane) within a host polymer.
