Quercetin and Cardiovascular Health: An Evidence‐Based Review of Risk Factors and Treatments

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 11, November 2026.
Quercetin is a naturally occurring polyphenolic phytochemical distributed in fruits and vegetables. Quercetin, as a flavonoid, showed significant antioxidant capabilities and potential therapeutic effects on CVD risk factors. Quercetin reduces cardiac hypertrophy and apoptosis in cardiomyocytes by modulating critical signaling pathways.

Standardized Microplate‐Based Assays for Quantifying Antioxidant Activity in Extracellular Vesicles and Nanovesicles Across Biological Kingdoms

open access: yesJournal of Extracellular Vesicles, Volume 15, Issue 11, November 2026.
ABSTRACT The antioxidant activity of extracellular vesicles (EVs) and nanovesicles are increasingly linked to their physiological and therapeutic functions, yet its accurate quantification remains limited by low EV yield, co‐isolated contaminants and the lack of standardized methodologies.

RNA‐Binding Protein NOVA1 Restrains Immune Escape and Liver Metastasis in Colorectal Cancer via Stabilizing NRXN1 mRNA

open access: yesThe Journal of Gene Medicine, Volume 28, Issue 11, November 2026.
The RNA‐binding protein neuro‐oncological ventral antigen 1 (NOVA1) is downregulated in colorectal cancer (CRC) and is associated with poor prognosis. NOVA1 binds and stabilizes neurexin 1 (NRXN1) messenger RNA (mRNA), thereby increasing NRXN1 expression and suppressing tumor cell proliferation, invasion, immune evasion, and liver metastasis; NRXN1 ...

Effects of Deltamethrin and Endosulfan on the Hepatic Markers and Neurobehavioural Alterations in Japanese Quail (Coturnix japonica)

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 6, November 2026.
Japanese quail were exposed to combined low or high doses of deltamethrin and endosulfan by daily oral gavage for 3 weeks. Co‐exposure produced dose‐dependent hepatotoxicity and metabolic disruption, with elevated AST (aspartate aminotransferase), ALP (alkaline phosphatase), LDL, VLDL and cholesterol alongside reduced body and kidney weights.

Cellular Senescence Dysregulates Antiviral Interferon Responses in Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 11, November 2026.
Senescent idiopathic pulmonary fibroblasts (IPF) lung fibroblasts are transcriptomically uncoupled from a functional response to virus relative to healthy (HLF) lung fibroblasts. HLF lung fibroblasts require viral effectors STAT1 or IRF3 to enact a viral response while IPF lung fibroblasts do not rely on these axes in response to virus.
