Assessing genetic variability in bat species of Emballonuridae, Phyllostomidae, Vespertilionidae and Molossidae families (Chiroptera) by RFLP-PCR

open access: yesGenetics and Molecular Research, 2008
A PCR-RFLP analysis of the restriction pattern in nuclear (RAG2) and mitochondrial (12S/16S) gene sequences of bat species from the Molossidae, Phyllostomidae, Vespertilionidae, and Emballonuridae families produced a large number of fragments: 107 for RAG2 and 155 for 12S/16S combined in 139 and 402 haplotypes, respectively.

SPG4 and Dementia: Expanding the Clinical Spectrum

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, Volume 13, Issue 10, Page 2002-2016, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective Hereditary spastic paraplegia (HSP) is a group of disorders characterized by progressive spasticity and lower limb weakness, with mutations in SPG4/SPAST being the most common cause. Detailed studies and clinical and molecular comparisons across different populations are missing.

Blood Meal Identification in Field-Captured Sand flies: Comparison of PCR-RFLP and ELISA Assays

open access: yesJournal of Arthropod-Borne Diseases, 2009
Background: We aimed to develop a PCR-RFLP assay based on available sequences of putative vertebrate hosts to identify blood meals ingested by field female sand fly in the northwest of Iran.

Human papillomavirus detection and typing using a nested-PCR-RFLP assay

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Infectious Diseases
BACKGROUND: It is clinically important to detect and type human papillomavirus (HPV) in a sensitive and specific manner. OBJECTIVES: Development of a nested-polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (nested-PCR-RFLP) assay to ...

A specific primer PCR and RFLP assay for the rapid detection and differentiation in planta of some Mycosphaerella species associated with foliar diseases of Eucalyptus globulus [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
It is difficult to accurately identify Mycosphaerella species associated with leaf diseases of Eucalyptus based on morphological characters, as there is considerable overlap between very similar species and subspecies, and isolation from the host is not ...

Molecular Detection and Identification of Candida Species Isolates from Oral by RFLP-PCR

open access: yesJournal for Research in Applied Sciences and Biotechnology
In this study, 10 local isolates from a total of 50 samples of Candida sp. were collected from oral swabs of patients with oral infections in Mosul hospitals. The isolates were diagnosed based on culturing, microscopic and biochemical characteristics, and then molecular methods.

Molecular Identification of Yeasts Isolated from Dadih by RFLP-PCR and Assessment on Their Ability in Utilizing Lactate

open access: yesMicrobiology Indonesia, 2012
A wide variety of yeasts have been involved in traditional fermented foods, and potentially contributed to the development of product properties. The existence of indigenous yeasts in dadih, a traditionally fermented form of buffalo milk of West Sumatera, has been reported but an accurate identification is still required to be conducted. This study was

Molecular Characterization of Environmental Non-Tuberculous Mycobacteria Using PCR- RFLP Analysis of 441 Bp Heat Shock Protein 65 Fragments [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Public Health, 2012
Background: Non- Tuberculous Mycobacteria are environmental opportunistic pathogens that can be found in various terrestrial and aquatic habitats. There are an epidemiological links between species isolated in tap water and those isolated from patients ...

Environmental Factors Have a Stronger Influence on the Coral Holobiont in Comparison to Geographic Distance Along a 15,000‐km East‐to‐West Transect Through the Coral Triangle, Pacific and Indian Oceans

open access: yesGlobal Ecology and Biogeography, Volume 35, Issue 10, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Aim To determine the factors that structure coral‐associated microbial communities (bacteria and Symbiodiniaceae). These microbial communities play critical roles in reef ecosystem function, yet the relative importance of environmental versus geographic drivers in structuring these communities across large spatial scales remains poorly ...
