Abstract Background In the United Kingdom, the prevalence of diabetes‐related foot ulcer disease (DFUD) is 6.3%, and cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the leading cause of mortality in people with DFUD. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a multifactorial intervention to reduce CVD events and mortality in adults with type 2 diabetes (T2D ...

Succinate receptor 1 signaling mutually depends on subcellular localization and cellular metabolism
SUCNR1, activated by succinate, is a Gi‐ and Gq‐coupled receptor present at the plasma membrane and in endosomes. There are conflicting reports about the pro‐/anti‐inflammatory effects of the succinate‐SUCNR1 signaling axis, and these are likely due to localization‐dependent signaling.

Subjective Physical Performance and Its Determinants in Patients With Haemophilia
ABSTRACT Introduction Physical functioning is compromised in patients with haemophilia (PwH). However, factors negatively influencing subjective physical performance (SPP) remain underexplored. Hence, this study aimed to compare the SPP of PwH with healthy controls (CON), to differentiate them based on disease‐specific, person‐related, and arthropathy ...

Rethinking HIV treatment: How non‐integrase strand regimens may hold the key to better immune health
Abstract Purpose HIV outcome changed drastically with antiretroviral (ARV) therapy, especially after the introduction of second‐generation integrase strand transfer inhibitors (INSTIs). Despite these advances, however, chronic immune activation and exhaustion, marked by programmed cell death 1 (PD‐1) and programmed death ligand 1 (PD‐L1) upregulation ...
