Rhesus Rhadinovirus R15 Encodes a Functional Homologue of Human CD200 [PDF]
ABSTRACT A viral CD200 homologue (vCD200) encoded by open reading frame R15 of rhesus rhadinovirus (RRV), a gammaherpesvirus closely related to human herpesvirus 8 (HHV-8), is described here. RRV vCD200 shares 30% and 28% amino acid identity with human CD200 (huCD200) and HHV-8 vCD200, respectively.

Abstract Equine Herpesvirus‐1 infection has been assessed according to the criteria of the Animal Health Law (AHL), in particular criteria of: Article 7 on disease profile and impacts, Article 5 on the eligibility of the disease to be listed, Article 9 for the categorisation of the disease according to disease prevention and control measures as in ...

A Novel γ2-Herpesvirus of the Rhadinovirus 2 Lineage in Chimpanzees [PDF]
Old World monkeys and, recently, African great apes have been shown, by serology and polymerase chain reaction (PCR), to harbor different γ2-herpesviruses closely related to Kaposi's sarcoma-associated Herpesvirus (KSHV). Although the presence of two distinct lineages of KSHV-like rhadinoviruses, RV1 and RV2, has been revealed in Old World primates ...

The Primary Sequence of Rhesus Monkey Rhadinovirus Isolate 26-95: Sequence Similarities to Kaposi's Sarcoma-Associated Herpesvirus and Rhesus Monkey Rhadinovirus Isolate 17577 [PDF]
ABSTRACT The primary sequence of the long unique region L-DNA (L for low GC) of rhesus monkey rhadinovirus (RRV) isolate 26-95 was determined. The L-DNA consists of 130,733 bp that contain 84 open reading frames (ORFs). The overall organization of the RRV26-95 genome was found to be very similar to that of human Kaposi sarcoma-associated ...

Gammaherpesvirus infections have been described in cervids worldwide, mainly the genera Macavirus or Rhadinovirus. However, little is known about the gammaherpesviruses species infecting cervids in Norway and Fennoscandia.

Rhesus Rhadinovirus Infection of Rhesus Fibroblasts Occurs through Clathrin-Mediated Endocytosis [PDF]
ABSTRACT Rhesus rhadinovirus (RRV) is a gammaherpesvirus closely related to Kaposi's sarcoma-associated herpesvirus (KSHV), an oncogenic virus linked to the development of Kaposi's sarcoma and several other lymphoproliferative diseases, including primary effusion lymphoma and multicentric Castleman's disease.

The first endogenous herpesvirus, identified in the tarsier genome, and novel sequences from primate rhadinoviruses and lymphocryptoviruses. [PDF]
Herpesviridae is a diverse family of large and complex pathogens whose genomes are extremely difficult to sequence. This is particularly true for clinical samples, and if the virus, host, or both genomes are being sequenced for the first time.

Identification of the Rhesus Macaque Rhadinovirus Lytic Origin of DNA Replication [PDF]
ABSTRACT We have identified a lytic origin of DNA replication (oriLyt) for rhesus macaque rhadinovirus (RRV), the rhesus macaque homolog of human herpesvirus 8 (HHV-8), also known as Kaposi's sarcoma-associated herpesvirus. RRV oriLyt maps to the region of the genome between open reading frame 69 (ORF69) and ORF71 (vFLIP) and is composed of ...
