Multi‐Induction Strategies in Crops: Mechanisms, Synergistic Effects, and Sustainable Applications for Enhanced Secondary Metabolite Production

open access: yesFood Frontiers, Volume 7, Issue 4, July 2026.
This review analyzes single/combined abiotic (light, water, nutrients, hormones) and biotic (microbes, yeast) elicitors regulating signaling, gene expression, and metabolism to boost plant secondary metabolites. It highlights synergistic multielicitor strategies for crop quality and functional foods, while critically addressing current limitations and ...

Polygonatum cyrtonema Polysaccharides‐Derived Metabolic Meta Alleviates ALD via a Gut–Liver Axis–Mediated, Bifidobacterium pseudolongum–Driven Suppression of the AA Metabolism–MAPK Signaling Network

open access: yesFood Frontiers, Volume 7, Issue 4, July 2026.
This study demonstrates that the hepatoprotective effect of Polygonatum cyrtonema polysaccharide (PCP) is mediated by its gut microbiota‐derived metabolome, which enriches Bifidobacterium pseudolongum, suppresses the gut–liver axis of AA metabolism, and inhibits hepatic MAPK signaling. ABSTRACT Polygonatum cyrtonema, a traditional Chinese medicinal and

Research on the Mechanism of Natural Products Acting on Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 7, July 2026.
This figure illustrates that approximately 80 natural compounds exert therapeutic effects against chronic obstructive pulmonary disease by targeting pathological mechanisms such as airway inflammation, oxidative stress, airway remodeling, mucus hypersecretion, emphysema, protease–antiprotease imbalance, apoptosis, and autophagy.

Dietary Polyphenols as Natural Modulators of NF‐κB Signaling in Inflammation‐Driven Non‐Communicable Diseases: Focus on Cancer

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 7, July 2026.
Dietary polyphenols and phytochemicals suppress NF‐κB signaling. Mechanistically, by inhibiting IκBα degradation and preventing nuclear translocation of p65/p50 complexes, the polyphenols reduce the expression of pro‐inflammatory and pro‐survival genes, thereby decreasing overall cancer cell survival.
