Molecular forms of rhodamine B
Chemical Physics Letters, 1981Abstract Three molecular forms of rhodamine B (neutral, cationic and cationic-lactonic) in aqueous solutions are reported. The pka of the equilibria between the neutral and cationic forms as well as cationic and cationic-lactonic ones are evaluated. The dimerization constants of neutral and cationic forms (coloured) are also determined.

Chemical Physics Letters, 1982
Abstract Aggregation of the coloured neutral and cationic forms of rhodamine β in aqueous solution has been studied. The formation constants and absorption of the dimers were determined. The geometric disposition of monomers in both aggregates and the nature of the association forces are discussed. Trimers are not formed.

The effects of Rhodamine B on the chromosomes of Muntiacus muntjac
Mutation Research/Genetic Toxicology, 1981Cytogenetic analysis of Muntiacus muntjac fibroblast cells exposed to the xanthene dye, Rhodamine B, revealed a significant increase in chromosomal aberrations. The M. muntjac fibroblasts were exposed to various concentrations of Rhodamine B and examined for increases in aberration frequencies.

A rhodamine B-based lysosomal pH probe
Journal of Materials Chemistry B, 2015A novel rhodamine B-based lysosomal pH probe RML was developed. RML responded to acidic pH with short response time, high selectivity and high sensitivity and could detect lysosomal pH change in living cells.

Photophysics of Rhodamine B Interacting with Silver Spheroids
Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 1999Deactivation processes of Rhodamine B (RB) in water and interacting with silver sols were studied by using conventional fluorescence, laser-induced fluorescence, and pulsed laser photoacoustics. Results showed that the emission efficiencies, absorption cross sections, and nonradiative deactivation pathway of RB interacting with silver spheroids of ...

Sonocatalytic degradation of rhodamine B in presence of CdS
Environmental Science and Pollution Research, 2018A novel sonocatalyst CdS was prepared by a facile precipitation method, and characterized by X-ray powder diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, UV-vis absorption spectroscopy, and photoluminescence spectroscopy. Comparative sonocatalytic degradation experiments were carried out in different conditions under ultrasonic irradiation and with ...

Studies on the pharmacokinetics and mutagenic potential of rhodamine b
Journal of Toxicology: Clinical Toxicology, 1990Rhodamine B is used as a marker dye in herbicide sprays. There is evidence that spray operators and others may absorb rhodamine B through the skin. This study was undertaken to investigate the in vivo mutagenicity of rhodamine B, to compare the in vitro mutagenicity of two commercial preparations of the dye with that of known mutagens including ...

Optical properties of Rhodamine B and Rhodamine 6G on silver surfaces
Pramana, 1988The transmission spectra of Rhodamine B and Rhodamine 6G dyes coated on silver island films for various thickness were recorded. A strong coupling between the silver particle plasma resonance and the dye molecules is observed. The absorption of dye molecules increases when the absorption band of individual dyes and silver particles overlaps.
