Transport of L-glucose by Rhodotorula glutinis

open access: yes, 1988
The kinetics of l-glucose transport by Rhodotorula glutinis were studied over a 720-fold range of sugar concentrations. Analysis of the saturation isotherm revealed the presence of a one-carrier system for l-glucose in the plasma membrane of Rhodotorula ...

STUDIES ON THE SEXUALITY OF RHODOTORULA

open access: yesThe Journal of General and Applied Microbiology, 1967
A sexual interaction was discovered between two strains of Rhodotorula glutinis considered as haploid. The nutritionally prototrophic mycelial colony was obtained by the conjugation and plasmogamy of cells of their auxotrophic mutants. The mycelial development was also found in the couple of their wild type cells.

High-level expression of Rhodotorula gracilis d-amino acid oxidase in Pichia pastoris

open access: yes, 2010
By combining gene design and heterologous over-expression of Rhodotorula gracilis D-amino acid oxidase (RgDAO) in Pichia pastoris, enzyme production was enhanced by one order of magnitude compared to literature benchmarks, giving 350 kUnits/l of fed ...
