Rhoifolin, a new flavone glycoside, isolated from the leaves of Rhus succedanea

Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, 1952
Abstract 1. 1. Rhoifolin, a new natural glycoside of apigenin, has been obtained from the green leaves of Rhus succedanea . 2. 2. Rhoifolin has been shown to be an apigenin-7-rhamnoglucoside. It apparently is identical with the apigenin-7-rhamnoglucoside obtained by the bromination and dehydrobromination of naringin.

Rhoifolin as a potential anxiolytic drug for the effects of nicotine withdrawal: beneficial effects on behavior, neuroinflammation, and oxidative stress

Metabolic Brain Disease
Cigarette smoke exposure induces oxidative stress and neuroinflammation, contributing to nicotine dependence and withdrawal-related anxiety. Rhoifolin (ROF), a naturally occurring flavonoid glycoside, possesses notable oxidative stress and inflammation reducing properties.

Citrus rhoifolin alleviated DSS-induced acute colitis by activating CEMIP/SLC7A11-mediated cystine uptake and inhibiting epithelial ferroptosis

European Journal of Nutrition
Pharmacological inhibition of ferroptosis, a specific form of regulated cell death, has emerged as a promising therapeutic strategy for alleviating symptoms and enhancing endoscopic outcomes in patients suffering from ulcerative colitis. Rhoifolin, a prominent bioactive constituent abundant in the widely consumed fruit Citrus grandis (grapefruit), has ...

Exploring the Antioxidant and Anti‐Inflammatory Effects of Rhoifolin Isolated from Teucrium Polium on Rats’ Lungs Exposed to Tobacco Smoke

Chemistry & Biodiversity
AbstractCigarette smoking exacerbates respiratory diseases, while plant‐derived polyphenols offer antioxidant and anti‐inflammatory benefits. This study exploresd the effects of Rhoifolin (ROF), a polyphenol from Jordanian Teucrium polium, on lung health in rats exposed to tobacco smoke.
