Oral squamous cell carcinoma cells exhibit upregulated expression of GSDMD upon exposure to low‐dose cisplatin chemotherapy, which subsequently interacts with MMP14 through its N‐terminal domain, activating the epithelial‒mesenchymal transition (EMT) process and promoting the lymph node metastasis of oral squamous cell carcinoma.

Acid digestion and symbiont: Proton sharing at the origin of mitochondriogenesis?
ADMit hypothesis for the origin of eukaryotes. A bacterial symbiont became associated with a protophagocytic host that captured prey with membrane processes. The symbiont cooperated to kill and digest the prey with reactive oxygen species and the acidification of the microenvironment.

Molecular Stiffening by Macrocycle Clustering
Macrocyclic hosts can remotely rigidify part of a molecule, implying that this part need not be included inside a macrocycle to be stiffened. Here, we show that multiple binding by synthetic hosts CB[7] and CB[8] can selectively rigidify fragments of a tetratopic molecule in water causing a gradual stiffening from the periphery to the core.

Gut Microbiome Pilot Study of Patients With CHARGE Syndrome and Sibling Controls
ABSTRACT Difficulties with feeding and digestion are common in individuals with CHARGE syndrome. Animal models with CHD7 gene variants demonstrate abnormal gut innovation and dysmotility. Our pilot study evaluated whether individuals with CHARGE syndrome have differences in their gut microbiome compared to unaffected siblings.
