Using Local Expert Knowledge to Measure Prices: Evidence From a Survey Experiment in Vietnam

open access: yesReview of Development Economics, Volume 30, Issue 4, Page 2830-2847, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Many countries lack spatially disaggregated consumer price data needed to estimate real inequality and spatial patterns of poverty. Such data are especially absent in poor countries where weak infrastructure and high transport costs create large price variation over space.

Programmable Multidimensional Diffraction Engineering via an Optically Addressed Nested Fourier Metasurface

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 15, Issue 19, 13 October 2026.
An optically addressed nested Fourier metasurface is presented for programmable multidimensional diffraction routing without electrical interconnects. Local Fourier‐mode engineering combined with global superlattice diffraction enables on‐demand reconfigurable routing.

CALB2 is a Mechanoresistance Gene in Metastatic Prostate Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 55, 5 October 2026.
Prostate cancer cell lines of differing origins were cultured over many passages while being subjected to semi‐lethal levels of fluid shear stress, representing the harsh mechanical environment these cells are subjected to in the circulation during the process of distant metastasis.

An Artificially Selected Cytokinin‐Pathway Transcription Factor Balances Soybean Yield and Pathogen Resistance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 56, 9 October 2026.
A cytokinin pathway transcription factor, RR2b, was artificially selected during soybean domestication and improvement based on its differential transcriptional activity, which correlates with ATT repeat polymorphisms in its promoter. RR2b balances yield and defense by fine‐tuning its expression level and offers a promising target for decoupling trade ...

Characterization of Acid Hydrolyzed Taro Boloso-I (Colocasia esculenta Cultivar) Starch as a Diluent in Direct Compression of Tablets

open access: yesAdvances in Pharmacological and Pharmaceutical Sciences
Corn, wheat, rice, potato, and cassava starches have been widely used as pharmaceutical excipients. However, the search for cost-effective local starch alternatives is necessary due to the availability and usage constraints.

In vivo treatment of zinc phosphide poisoning by administration of mesoporous silica nanoparticles as an effective antidote agent

open access: yesHeliyon
Mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSNs) are highly advanced engineered particles with increased surface area and extreme adsorption capacity for various molecules. Herein, two types of MSNs were synthesized and applied as adsorbents for phosphine gas. One
