The Ridgelet Transform and Quasiasymptotic Behavior of Distributions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We characterize the quasiasymptotic behavior of distributions in terms of a Tauberian theorem for ridgelet transforms.

Curvelet Approach for SAR Image Denoising, Structure Enhancement, and Change Detection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
In this paper we present an alternative method for SAR image denoising, structure enhancement, and change detection based on the curvelet transform. Curvelets can be denoted as a two dimensional further development of the well-known wavelets.

Multivariate $\alpha$-molecules

open access: yes, 2016
The suboptimal performance of wavelets with regard to the approximation of multivariate data gave rise to new representation systems, specifically designed for data with anisotropic features.

Second-Generation Curvelets on the Sphere [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Curvelets are efficient to represent highly anisotropic signal content, such as a local linear and curvilinear structure. First-generation curvelets on the sphere, however, suffered from blocking artefacts.

A multiresolution framework for local similarity based image denoising [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In this paper, we present a generic framework for denoising of images corrupted with additive white Gaussian noise based on the idea of regional similarity.

Polarized wavelets and curvelets on the sphere

open access: yes, 2009
The statistics of the temperature anisotropies in the primordial cosmic microwave background radiation field provide a wealth of information for cosmology and for estimating cosmological parameters. An even more acute inference should stem from the study

Image Decomposition and Separation Using Sparse Representations: An Overview [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
This paper gives essential insights into the use of sparsity and morphological diversity in image decomposition and source separation by reviewing our recent work in this field.

The finite ridgelet transform for image representation

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Image Processing, 2003
The ridgelet transform was introduced as a sparse expansion for functions on continuous spaces that are smooth away from discontinuities along lines. We propose an orthonormal version of the ridgelet transform for discrete and finite-size images. Our construction uses the finite Radon transform (FRAT) as a building block.

Face recognition based on ridgelet transforms

open access: yesProcedia Computer Science, 2010
AbstractThis paper relates to a face recognition and verification technique based on ridgelet transforms. Our proposed method first uses the ridgelet transform of the face image for feature extraction. This involves first applying a sequen- tial combination of radon and wavelet transforms to both the training and test images.
