Construction of Power Line Inspection System Using a Quadrotor Helicopter
This work presents a construction of a novel system for autonomous inspection of power transmission lines using a quadrotor helicopter. The aircraft follows the power lines at a constant distance and acquires high‐resolution images of the conductors, dampers, and towers. Monitoring of the vegetation under the power lines is also performed.

Techno‐economic analysis for floating offshore wind farms in the Mediterranean Sea. The case study was in Sardina (Italy) for a wind farm of 1 GW. Proposal is made for green hydrogen production during curtailments. Abstract Bringing floating offshore wind turbines (FOWTs) to a real industrial maturity and reducing the levelized cost of floating wind ...

Influence of main operating conditions on contact wire wear of rigid catenary lines
A validated overhead conductor rail and a well-known wear model have been programmed to perform closer-to- reality simulations. Reliable wear rate estimates for two configurations of overhead conductor rails and three models of pantographs at different speeds and supply currents have been obtained. Results show that wear decreases with increasing speed

Structural behaviour of fully coupled spar–mooring system under extreme wave loading
Floating spar platform has been proven to be an economical and efficient type of offshore oil and gas exploration structure in deep and ultra-deep seas. Associated nonlinearities, coupled action, damping effect and extreme sea environments may modify its

Analysis and Solutions for Pantograph-Catenary Abnormal Wears
[Objective] Severe abnormal wear of PC (pantograph-catenary) systems can lead to the breakage of contact wires and the collapse of the overhead network, directly causing power supply interruptions and potentially triggering traffic accidents.

The flexible pantograph of straddle-type monorail has influence on the dynamics performance of pantograph-catenary system. This paper established a rigid-flexible pantograph-catenary-vehicle coupling dynamics model of monorail. By embedded the rigid-flexible pantograph into the vehicle dynamic analysis model, the rigid-flexible pantograph-catenary ...
