Defining Roles in Pediatric Palliative Care: Perspectives From Oncology and Palliative Care Teams

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Early integration of pediatric palliative care (PPC) is associated with improved symptom management, quality of life, and healthcare utilization for children with cancer. Despite this, variation persists in how PPC is understood, operationalized, and integrated within pediatric oncology programs. In particular, ambiguity surrounding

Naringenin nanoliposomes alleviate hyperuricemia by inhibiting NLRP3 inflammasome: effects of rigidity

open access: yesFood Science and Human Wellness
Hyperuricemia (HUA) is a metabolic disease characterized by high levels of uric acid (UA) in the blood and varying degrees of kidney damage. Desirable nanoliposomes should simultaneously exhibit efficient biocompatibility and effective drug delivery ...

"Primum non nocere (First, do no harm)". Case report

open access: yesКардиоваскулярная терапия и профилактика, 2023
Diastolic myocardial dysfunction is the most important pathogenetic factor in heart failure and makes a significant contribution to hemodynamic disorders, which leads to a significant deterioration in the quality of life and prognosis of patients.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Rigidity is undecidable [PDF]

open access: yesMathematical Structures in Computer Science, 2014
We show that the problem of whether a finite set of regular-linear axioms defines a rigid theory is undecidable.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Case Report: Expanding the Genetic and Phenotypic Spectrum of Autosomal Recessive Spastic Ataxia of Charlevoix-Saguenay

open access: yesFrontiers in Genetics, 2020
Autosomal recessive spastic ataxia of Charlevoix–Saguenay (ARSACS) is a rare neurodegenerative disorder caused by biallelic mutations in the SACS gene. Once thought to be limited to Charlevoix–Saguenay region of Quebec, recent evidence has indicated that

Orbit equivalence rigidity

open access: yes, 1999
Consider a countable group Gamma acting ergodically by measure preserving transformations on a probability space (X,mu), and let R_Gamma be the corresponding orbit equivalence relation on X.

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

On the Stability of Eccentrically Compressed Reinforced Concrete Elements with a Small Eccentricity, Taking into Account the Rheological Properties of Concrete

open access: yesЖелезобетонные конструкции, 2023
In the practice of modern construction, flexible centrally and eccentrically compressed reinforced concrete elements are becoming more common. In this regard, the relevance of studying their work and the mechanism of bearing capacity exhaustion increases.
