A mild and efficient approach to enantioenriched α-hydroxyethyl α,β-unsaturated δ-lactams [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
A straightforward approach toward enantioenriched α-substituted α,β-unsaturated δ-lactams is described. Although a considerable number of approaches toward α,β-unsaturated δ-lactams have been reported, there are relatively few examples of enantioenriched

Two‐Way Shape Memory Polymer Composite Gripper for Adaptive Robotic Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A two‐way shape memory polymer (SMP) composite is developed with intrinsic shape‐changing capability driven solely by temperature, eliminating external actuation loads. Embedding the SMP in a low‐stiffness elastomeric matrix enabled reversible transformations during heating and cooling cycles.

Beyond catalyst deactivation: cross-metathesis involving olefins containing N-heteroaromatics

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2015
Alkenes containing N-heteroaromatics are known to be poor partners in cross-metathesis reactions, probably due to catalyst deactivation caused by the presence of a nitrogen atom.

Total Synthesis of (-)-(7S,10R)-Calamenene and (-)-(7S,10R)-2-Hydroxycalamenene by Use of a Ring-Closing Metathesis Reaction. A Comparison of the cis- and trans-Isomers

open access: yesMolecules, 2002
The title compounds have been synthesized starting from l-menthone by application of a ring-closing metathesis reaction to confirm their reported absolute and relative stereochemistry.

Mitochondria and Neuromast Tagging With Fluorescent Gallium‐Triapine Analogues: In Cellulo MP FLIM and Zebrafish Live Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Fluorescent BODIPY‐conjugated thiosemicarbazone ligands and their Ga(III), In(III), and Fe(III) complexes, inspired by Triapine, are developed as theranostic agents. Multiphoton FLIM and confocal microscopy in cancer cells and zebrafish reveal real‐time uptake, mitochondrial localisation, and whilst spectroscopic assays indicated preserved complex ...

A Synthetic Approach Toward a Brominated Oxocane Labdane Diterpenoid Isolated From

open access: yesNatural Product Communications, 2020
The synthesis of a labdane oxocane epoxy-alcohol is described starting from the Wieland–Miescher ketone derivative via ring closing olefin metathesis of a diene derivative, targeting the total synthesis of a brominated oxocane labdane diterpenoid ...

Low Catalyst Loadings in Olefin Metathesis: Synthesis of Nitrogen Heterocycles by Ring-Closing Metathesis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
A series of ruthenium catalysts have been screened under ring-closing metathesis (RCM) conditions to produce five-, six-, and seven-membered carbamate-protected cyclic amines. Many of these catalysts demonstrated excellent RCM activity and yields with as

Efficient catalytic alkyne metathesis with a fluoroalkoxy-supported ditungsten(III) complex

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2018
The molybdenum and tungsten complexes M2(OR)6 (Mo2F6, M = Mo, R = C(CF3)2Me; W2F3, M = W, R = OC(CF3)Me2) were synthesized as bimetallic congeners of the highly active alkyne metathesis catalysts [MesC≡M{OC(CF3)nMe3−n}] (MoF6, M = Mo, n = 2; WF3, M = W ...

Bifunctional [c2]Daisy-Chains and Their Incorporation into Mechanically Interlocked Polymers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
A strategy for the formation of mechanically interlocked polymers is presented. Ring-closing olefin metathesis has been shown to provide a very high yielding route to [c2]daisy-chains suitably functionalized to allow their one-step conversion to ...
