Free radical ring-opening polymerization [PDF]
Although unstrained five- or six-membered carbocyclic systems undergo free radical ring-closing polymerization, the introduction of an oxygen into the ring will promote free radical ring-opening polymerization, since the resulting carbon–oxygen double bond is approximately 50 kcal more stable than a carbon-carbon double bond.

ABSTRACT Background PIK3CA‐related overgrowth spectrum (PROS) includes several rare overgrowth disorders resulting from somatic gain‐of‐function mutations in PIK3CA. Despite treatment advances, including the recent approval of alpelisib for PROS in the United States, literature detailing the patient experience with PROS is limited.

Controlled molecular architectures via ring opening metathesis polymerisation [PDF]
This thesis describes studies into the ring opening metathesis polymerisation (ROMP) of some monocyclic alkenes, the living polymerisation of cyclopentene and the preparation of novel block copolymers and novel polyethylene architectures using having ...

Ring-Opening Carbonyl-Olefin Metathesis of Cyclobutenes
The ring-opening carbonyl-olefin metathesis of cyclobutenes to furnish γ,δ-unsaturated aldehydesformal Claisen rearrangement productsis reported. The bistrifluoroacetic acid salt of 2,3-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane promotes these reactions efficiently with

The Reaction of Ethyl 2-oxo-2H-chromene-3-carboxylate with Hydrazine Hydrate
Although salicylaldehyde azine (3) was reported in 1985 as the single product of the reaction of ethyl 2-oxo-2H-chromene-3-carboxylate (1) with hydrazine hydrate, we identified another main reaction product, besides 3, which was identified as malono ...

ABSTRACT Background Osteosarcoma (OS) and Ewing sarcoma (EWS) are the most common primary bone cancers in children, but acute thrombosis is poorly characterized in this population. Our study evaluated the rates of venous thromboembolism (VTE) and associated risk factors in pediatric patients with bone sarcomas treated over a 10‐year period encompassing

Ring-Opening Vibrations of Spherosiloxanes
The ring-opening vibrations of the spherosilasesquioxanes of the general formula (HSiO3/2)2n, n = 2, 3, 4, etc., are normal modes in which all Si−O stretching and/or O−Si−O bending displacements of the considered ring are in phase.

ABSTRACT Background An internal tandem duplication in the gene encoding Fms‐like tyrosine kinase 3 (FLT3‐ITD) is associated with high relapse risk and poor prognosis in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and plays a crucial role in treatment decisions. Measurable residual disease (MRD) analysis of FLT3‐ITD during and after treatment has shown prognostic ...

A study of the ring opening metathesis polymerization of polycyclic aromatic monomers and cyclopentenes with well defined initiators [PDF]
This thesis describes studies into the ring opening metathesis polymerisation (ROMP) of polycyclic aromatic monomers and cyclopentenes. Chapter 1 reviews general aspects of ring opening metathesis polymerisation of relevance to the themes of this thesis.
