Automated FRAP microscopy for high‐throughput analysis of protein dynamics in chromatin organization and transcription

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
RoboMic is an automated confocal microscopy pipeline for high‐throughput functional imaging in living cells. Demonstrated with fluorescence recovery after photobleaching (FRAP), it integrates AI‐driven nuclear segmentation, ROI selection, bleaching, and analysis.

Linker histone H1 regulates homeostasis of heterochromatin-associated cRNAs

open access: yesCell Reports
Summary: Chromatin-associated RNAs (cRNAs) are a poorly characterized fraction of cellular RNAs that co-purify with chromatin. Their full complexity and the mechanisms regulating their packaging and chromatin association remain poorly understood.

Specific regions of the intervening sequences of beta-globin RNA are resistant to nuclease in 50S heterogeneous nuclear RNA-protein complexes. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1985
The specific assembly of heterogeneous nuclear RNA-protein complexes (hnRNPs) containing precursor beta-globin RNA was investigated by using the 50S hnRNP released from chicken reticulocyte nuclei by endogenous nuclease.

RNA-RNA and RNA-protein interactions in coronavirus replication and transcription [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Coronavirus (CoV) RNA synthesis includes the replication of the viral genome, and the transcription of sgRNAs by a discontinuous mechanism. Both processes are regulated by RNA sequences such as the 5¿ and 3¿ untranslated regions (UTRs), and the ...

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Derivation and characterization of retinal pigment epithelium from urine‐derived iPSCs

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Age‐related macular degeneration causes vision loss via RPE dysfunction and loss. Traditional iPSC therapies rely on invasive biopsies, limiting scalability. Here, we utilize urine‐derived stem cells as an accessible source to generate u‐iPSCs, successfully differentiated into pigmented RPE. This “Urine‐to‐Retina” platform provides a promising path for

HnRNPA2B1 ISGylation Regulates m6A‐Tagged mRNA Selective Export via ALYREF/NXF1 Complex to Foster Breast Cancer Development

open access: yesAdvanced Science
Regulating nuclear export precisely is essential for maintaining mRNA homeostasis and impacts tumor progression. However, the mechanisms governing nuclear mRNA export remain poorly elucidated.

Chromosome territory position and active relocation in normal and hutchinson-gilford progeria fibroblasts [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
This thesis was submitted for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy and awarded by Brunel University.Radial chromosome positioning in interphase nuclei is non-random and can alter according to developmental, differentiation, proliferation or disease status.

Emerging roles of hnRNPA1 inmodulating malignanttransformation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoproteins (hnRNPs) are RNA-binding proteins associated with complex and diverse biological processes such as processing of heterogeneous nuclear RNAs (hnRNAs) into mature mRNAs, RNA splicing, transactivation of gene ...
