Isothiazologuanosine (tzG) as Environmentally Sensitive Fluorescent Reporter in RNA

The emissive isothiazologuanosine analog tzG is synthesized for the first time as RNA phosphoramidite building block for solid‐phase synthesis. Due to its isomorphic and isofunctional characteristics, tzG forms Watson–Crick base pairs and can be used as fluorescent probe to monitor (deoxy)ribozyme activity.

SDPR–STK38 axis controls the proliferation–differentiation balance in alveolar type II cells

The present study identifies SDPR as a pivotal regulator orchestrating the balance between proliferation and differentiation in alveolar type II (AT2) cells. In SDPR+/+ cells, SDPR binds to and inhibits STK38 activity, thereby sustaining GSK‐3β signaling functionality to promote cyclin D1 degradation and maintain cell cycle homeostasis.

Nitro Reduction‐Based RNA Control and Ultrafast Release

A chemical RNA caging–uncaging strategy based on nitro reduction is described. Nitroaryl groups introduced via acylation temporarily block the functions of diverse RNAs in vitro and in living cells. Treatment with a diboronic acid–bipyridine mixture rapidly reduces the nitro groups, releasing RNAs and restoring their activity.
