Panicum Mosaic Virus and Its Satellites Acquire RNA Modifications Associated with Host-Mediated Antiviral Degradation

open access: yesmBio, 2019
Positive-sense RNA viruses in the Tombusviridae family have genomes lacking a 5′ cap structure and prototypical 3′ polyadenylation sequence. Instead, these viruses utilize an extensive network of intramolecular RNA-RNA interactions to direct viral ...

Progress on the regulation of malignant biological behavior of glioma by HMGB1 gene

open access: yesChinese Journal of Contemporary Neurology and Neurosurgery
Glioma is often recurred after standard treatment due to its complex biological characteristics and the presence of glioma stem cells (GSCs). High -mobility group box 1 (HMGB1) can regulate the malignant progression of glioma through a variety of ways as

The small genome segment of Bunyamwera orthobunyavirus harbours a single transcription-termination signal [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Transcription termination of the mRNA produced from the small (S) genome segment of Bunyamwera orthobunyavirus (BUNV) has previously been mapped to two cis-acting sequences located within the 5′ UTR using a virus-free replication assay.

microRNAs Mediated Regulation of the Ribosomal Proteins and its Consequences on the Global Translation of Proteins

open access: yesCells, 2021
Ribosomal proteins (RPs) are mostly derived from the energy-consuming enzyme families such as ATP-dependent RNA helicases, AAA-ATPases, GTPases and kinases, and are important structural components of the ribosome, which is a supramolecular ...

The role of TNRC6 proteins in gene silencing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Proteins of the GW182 family have recently emerged as key players in miRNAmediated gene silencing. They have been shown to interact with Argonaute proteins, components of the RISC and are assumed to mediate the repression in metazoa. Three paralogues are

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Computational discovery of animal small RNA genes and targets [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Though recently discovered, small RNAs appear to play a wealth of regulatory roles, being involved in degradation of target mRNAs, translation silencing of target genes, chromatin remodeling and transposon silencing.

DNA methylation and expression of MAPRE3 affect overall survival of early‐stage non‐small cell lung cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Both cg12821679MAPRE3 methylation and MAPRE3 expression are significantly associated with overall survival (OS) of non‐small cell lung cancer. Meanwhile, MAPRE3 expression significantly modified the effect of smoking cessation on OS. Smoking cessation benefits OS merely for patients with high MAPRE3 expression.
