Kinetic and Thermodynamic Analyses of RNA–Protein Interactions

2019
Recently created biophysical methods, such as surface plasmon resonance (SPR) and isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC), have been widely used to quantitatively study biomolecule interactions. The dissociation constant of the interaction with kinetic parameters, such as association rate constant and dissociation rate constant, can be obtained using ...

RNA-protein interactions in ribosotnes

1995
Abstract In recent years, the functional role of ribosomal RNAs in protein synthesis has received a great deal of attention, as domains of highly conserved structure have been identified with the decoding site, the peptidyl transferase active centre, binding sites for the elongation factors, and other functional centres of the ribosome ...

Harnessing RNA‐Protein Interactions for Therapeutic Interventions

Chemistry – An Asian Journal
AbstractInteractions between RNAs and proteins play a crucial role in various diseases, including viral infections and cancer. Hence, understanding and inhibiting these interactions are important for the development of novel therapeutics. However, the identification of drugs targeting RNA‐protein interactions with high specificity and affinity is ...

Analysis of RNA–Protein Interactions by Cell Mixing

2014
RNA-protein complexes are critical for almost all aspects of gene expression. Analysis of RNA-protein interactions can be complicated by the disruption of native complexes and the formation of new, reassorted complexes upon cell lysis. Before concluding that a specific RNA and protein interact in vivo, cell-mixing experiments can be performed to ensure

Recent advances in RNA-protein interaction studies

Molecular Biology Reports, 1993
The RNA binding sites for several small proteins have been characterised. These sites include double helical regions with hairpins, bulged bases and internal loops. As seen in Flock House virus structure, some proteins may recognise phosphate backbone of the canonical A-form helix not in a sequence-specific manner.
