Complementary regions of the nuclear precursor of messenger RNA

open access: yesFEBS Letters, 1974
It has been shown previously that after self-annealing of the nuclear precursor of messenger RNA (premRNA) at high values of Cot about 20% of the material becomes resistant to ribonuclease digestion [ 1 ] . This was explained by the existence of self-complementary regions in the molecules of pre-mRNA and by the ability of these sequences to form ...

Processing of histidine transfer RNA precursors. Abnormal cleavage site for RNase P.

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1988
The 5'-terminal guanylate residue (G-1) of mature Escherichia coli tRNA(His) is generated as a result of an unusual cleavage by RNase P (Orellana, O., Cooley, L., and Söll, D. (1986) Mol. Cell. Biol. 6, 525-529).

Mutant NPM1 in Acute Myeloid Leukemia Initiation and Maintenance

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
NPM1 mutations drive acute myeloid leukemia by acting as neomorphic transcriptional regulators that cooperate with Menin–MLL and XPO1 to sustain HOX/MEIS1 expression and block differentiation. Targeting these mutant‐specific transcriptional dependencies provides a rational therapeutic strategy for NPM1‐mutated AML.

Processing of ribosomal precursor RNAs in Physarum polycephalum

open access: yesNucleic Acids Research, 1980
The processing of intermediates of Physarum rRNA has been investigated using two cloned rDNA restriction fragments as sequence specific probes. The size of the largest stable pre-rRNA detected is 11.8 Kb, as determined by denaturing gel electrophoresis.

Innate Immune Reprogramming Mediated by Endogenous Retroelement Dysregulation Drives Multiple Sclerosis Progression

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
Epigenetic reprogramming in hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs) and downstream myeloid cells, mediated by H3.3 downregulation and endogenous retroelement (ERE) overexpression, contributes to the progression of multiple sclerosis (MS). ABSTRACT Background Skewed myelopoiesis in the bone marrow has been identified as a key driver of multiple ...

Phylogenetic analysis of the structure of RNase MRP RNA in yeasts

open access: yes, 2002
RNase MRP is a ribonucleoprotein enzyme involved in processing precursor rRNA in eukaryotes. To facilitate our structure-function analysis of RNase MRP from Saccharomyces cerevisiae, we have determined the likely secondary structure of the RNA component ...

Plasma EV Proteomics Identifies ECM Remodeling and Inflammatory Proteins LUM and C7 as Candidate Biomarkers in FSHD

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSHD) is one of the most debilitating and common muscular dystrophies. Despite its severity, no approved therapy exists for FSHD patients. However, several therapeutic candidates are currently under development, and some have recently entered clinical trials, marking the need for reliable ...

Cytoplasmic RNA-dependent RNA-synthesis in maturing chicken erythrocytes.

open access: yes, 1976
Includes bibliographical references. An RNA-dependent RNA polymerase from ribosomes of maturing chicken erythrocytes was investigated. Concurrent with an increase in globin and RNA synthesis during phenylhydrazine induced anaemia, the total and specific ...

Prominent Movement Disorders in RNU2‐2‐Related Spliceosomopathy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pediatric movement disorders often overlap with neurodevelopmental diseases, suggesting shared molecular mechanisms. Variants in small nuclear RNA (snRNA) genes encoding spliceosome components have recently been associated with neurodevelopmental disorders, termed “RNUopathies.” We analyzed genome sequencing data from 14 patients with ...
