Mumps virus (MuV) is a neurotropic non-segmented, negative-stranded, enveloped RNA virus in the Paramyxovirus family. The 15.4 kb genome encodes seven genes, including the V/P, which encodes, among other proteins, the V protein.

We report on a novel RNA virus infecting the wasp Lysiphlebus fabarum, a parasitoid of aphids. This virus, tentatively named “Lysiphlebus fabarum virus” (LysV), was discovered in transcriptome sequences of wasps from an experimental evolution

Carcinoma‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) in tumors influence cancer progression. We identified endoglin (ENG) as a key factor in TGF‐β signaling in myofibroblastic CAFs (myCAFs), linked to poor breast cancer outcomes. Inhibiting ENG on myCAFs suppressed the TGF‐β‐Smad2/3 pathway, reducing primary tumor growth and metastasis.

ITGAV and SMAD4 influence the progression and clinical outcome of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma
In SMAD4‐positive pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), integrin subunit alpha V (ITGAV) activates latent TGF‐β, which binds to the TGF‐β receptor and phosphorylates SMAD2/3. The activated SMAD2/3 forms a complex with SMAD4, and together they translocate to the nucleus, modulating gene expression to promote proliferation, migration, and invasion. In

AN INSIGHT INTO THE LEISHMANIA RNA VIRUS
Leishmania RNA virus is an ancient virus that has coevolved with its protozoan host. The purpose of this article is to convey current understanding of Leishmania RNA virus as it has emerged over the past decade. The potential of the virus to play a role in modulating parasite virulence is also discussed.

Novel Viruses in Mosquitoes from Brazilian Pantanal
Viruses are ubiquitous and diverse microorganisms arising as a result of interactions within their vertebrate and invertebrate hosts. Here we report the presence of different viruses in the salivary glands of 1657 mosquitoes classified over 28 culicinae ...
