Robot Designer or Robot Creator

RO-MAN 2007 - The 16th IEEE International Symposium on Robot and Human Interactive Communication, 2007
Summary form only given. A robot is the first machine that can communicate with human beings in machine invention history. Thus, a robot is required to have a friendly appearance and natural motions to make people feel that the robot is lifelike. A humanoid robot is a human friendly interface between humans and machines.

There Is No "I" in "Robot": Robots and Utilitarianism

IEEE Intelligent Systems, 2006
In this article, the author uses the 2004 film I, Robot as a philosophical resource for exploring several issues relating to machine ethics. Though the author did not consider the film particularly successful as a work of art, it offers a fascinating conception of machine morality and raises questions that are well worth pursuing.

Robot Creativity: Humanlike Behaviour in the Robot-Robot Interaction

2020
Artificial Intelligence development is mainly directed toward imitating human reasoning and performing different tasks. For that purpose, related software and program solution where artificial intelligence is used have mostly thinking abilities. However, there are many questions to answer in ongoing AI research, especially when we come to the point ...

To Robot or Not To Robot: The Use of Robotics in Benign Gynecologic Surgery

Clinical Obstetrics & Gynecology, 2019
The use of robotic-assisted laparoscopic surgery has continued to grow since the Food and Drug Administration approval for robotic-assisted gynecologic surgery in 2005. However, despite this growth in utilization, the data supporting its use in benign gynecologic surgery has not strongly supported its advantages over conventional laparoscopy ...

Robot and Robotics: The Origin and Beyond

2016
The words “Robot” and “Robotics” originate from the theatrical play “Rossum’s Universal Robots” (R.U.R.) by Karel Capek and the short science fiction story “Runaround” by Isaak Asimov, respectively. While reading these works one realizes that beyond their historical value they also express many ideas that are pertinent to modern robotics and deserve ...

Robotics cloud and robotics school

2011 7th International Conference on Natural Language Processing and Knowledge Engineering, 2011
In the near future, robots with advanced intelligence will be used for the service of society, families, and individuals. In this paper, we propose the concept of an advanced intelligence machine, which is a device that uses both natural and artificial intelligence and is capable of affective recognition and generation of affective speech and behavior.
