Optimization of Stone Cutting Techniques for the Seismic Protection of Archaeological Sites [PDF]
Since the beginning of civilization, history tells of the movement of art pieces, monuments and manufacts from site to site. The causes are multiple: the displacements due to the "spoils of war", ordered by kings and emperors, the movements caused by the

Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Slant Angle and Its Influence on Rock Cutting Performance
Rock cutting is an important aspect of the civil engineering, for example, tunnelling. To improve cutting efficiency, it is important to understand the rock failure (fracture) mechanisms and the influences of cutting parameters on rock fracture behaviour.

Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Preparing rock powder specimens of controlled size distribution [PDF]
Apparatus produces rock powder specimens of the size distribution needed in geological sampling. By cutting grooves in the surface of the rock sample and then by milling these shallow, parallel ridges, the powder specimen is produced.

Targeted therapy was evaluated in SHH medulloblastoma using neuroepithelial stem cell (NES) and tumor‐derived NES‐like (tNES) models in 2D monolayers and 3D spheroids. PI3K, AKT, and CDK4/6 inhibitors had minimal effects in NES but markedly reduced viability and growth and induced apoptosis in tNES cells, revealing distinct therapeutic vulnerabilities.

Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...
