Paraglacial Rock Slope Stability Under Changing Environmental Conditions, Safuna Lakes, Cordillera Blanca Peru

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science, 2021
Landslides or landslide-induced impact waves in high mountain lakes represent a high hazard for society, calling for realistic assessments of rock slope stability responsible for the process chain initiation.

Sensitivity analysis of EUROSEM using Monte Carlo simulation II::the effect of rills and rock fragments [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
A sensitivity analysis of the surface and catchment characteristics in the European soil erosion model (EUROSEM) was carried out with special emphasis on rills and rock fragment cover.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Study on the collapse mechanism of slopes containing weak interlayers due to rising water level

open access: yesResults in Engineering
The centrifuge experiment was conducted to investigate the impact of weak interlayer reservoir bank slope water level rise on slope stability. The analysis of the experimental data revealed that the collapse of the reservoir bank slope was primarily ...

Predicting Landslides Using Locally Aligned Convolutional Neural Networks

open access: yes, 2020
Landslides, movement of soil and rock under the influence of gravity, are common phenomena that cause significant human and economic losses every year. Experts use heterogeneous features such as slope, elevation, land cover, lithology, rock age, and rock

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Stability Analysis of Soil and Rock Mixed Slope Based on Random Heterogeneous Structure

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering
Due to the complexity in the heterogeneous internal structure and interactions between rocks and soil, the slide of soil–rock mixed slope is usually more complex than that of a homogeneous soil slope.

Multi-scale analysis of water alteration on the rockslope stability framework [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
International audienceWater is an important weathering factor on rock discontinuities and in rock mass mechanical behavior. The increase of rainfall in frequency or in intensity highlights some problems on the rock slope stability analysis.

Dual PI3K/AKT and CDK4/6 inhibition reveals selective sensitivity in an SHH medulloblastoma stem cell model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Targeted therapy was evaluated in SHH medulloblastoma using neuroepithelial stem cell (NES) and tumor‐derived NES‐like (tNES) models in 2D monolayers and 3D spheroids. PI3K, AKT, and CDK4/6 inhibitors had minimal effects in NES but markedly reduced viability and growth and induced apoptosis in tNES cells, revealing distinct therapeutic vulnerabilities.

The stability issue of fractured rock mass slope under the influences of freeze–thaw cycle

open access: yesScientific Reports
Freeze–thaw failure of frozen rock slope often occurs during engineering construction and mining in cold area, which poses a great threat to engineering construction and people's life safety.
