Study on Wear Characteristic of Rolling Bearing Caused by Rolling-sliding Motion

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2021
Rolling-sliding motion is a special motion form which leads to the failure of rolling bearings. In order to study the wear characteristics of rolling bearings under rolling-sliding motion, the method of combining simulation with experiment is adopted ...

Numerical study of laminar flow and friction characteristics in narrow channels under rolling conditions using MPS method

open access: yesNuclear Engineering and Technology, 2019
Modern small modular nuclear reactors can be built on a barge in ocean, therefore, their flow characteristics depend upon the ocean motions. In the present research, effect of rolling motion on flow and friction characteristics of laminar flow through ...

Granular packings with sliding, rolling, and twisting friction [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2020
Intuition tells us that a rolling or spinning sphere will eventually stop due to the presence of friction and other dissipative interactions. The resistance to rolling and spinning/twisting torque that stops a sphere also changes the microstructure of a granular packing of frictional spheres by increasing the number of constraints on the degrees of ...

On rolling friction

open access: yesДоклады Академии наук, 2019
The dependence of rolling friction on velocity for various contact conditions is discussed. The principal difference between rolling and other types of relative motion (sliding and spinning) is that the points of the body in contact with the support change over time.

Simulation Analysis of Friction Moment Characteristic of Rolling-sliding Bearing

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2021
It is difficult to measure the friction torque of bearing parts in practice. In order to study the variation law of the friction torque of rolling-sliding bearings and the influence of the structure parameters on it, the simulation analysis of rolling ...

Performance Analysis of Abradable Coating Systems for Aircraft Gas Turbines

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Three CoNiCrAlY/YSZ/MgAl2O4 abradable liner configurations on a nickel‐superalloy are evaluated by thermal‐gradient cycling and incursion tests. Laser ablation of the bondcoat and/or Y2O3‐stabilized ZrO2 (YSZ) intermediate layer increases mechanical interlocking and bonding for thick topcoats.

Understanding and designing post-build rolling for mitigation of residual stress and distortion in wire arc additively manufactured components

open access: yesMaterials & Design, 2022
Post-build rolling can mitigate residual stress (RS) and distortion in large-scale components built by wire arc additive manufacturing (WAAM). In this study, based on numerical simulations that considered both WAAM deposition and vertical rolling, the ...

Solid‐State Diffusion and Intermetallic Phase Formation in Roll‐Bonded Mg–Zn Composites With Kirigami‐Patterned Inlay

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Mg–Zn composites with a thickness of 0.21 mm were fabricated using roll bonding of a kirigami‐patterned Mg alloy inlay within a Zn matrix. Thermal activation following this process led to the formation of tailored intermetallic structures, which provided the composite with enhanced flexural strength.
