Rolling shear strength of timber boards

open access: yesBulletin of Kharkov National Automobile and Highway University, 2020
Abstract. Problem Rolling shear strength and rolling shear modulus are important mechanical and elastic properties that have emerged recently and are needed when calculating multi-storey CLT buildings. Goal Rolling shear is a new task that requires determining the influencing factors on it’s magnitude as an indicator of the strength of the boards in ...

Acute Effect of Vibration Roller With and Without Rolling on Various Parts of the Plantar Flexor Muscle

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2021
A single use of a vibration foam roller likely increases the range of motion (ROM) without decreasing muscle strength and athletic performance. However, to date, no study compared the effects of a vibration roller with and without rolling on various ...

Influence of Rolling Temperatures on Interface Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Multi-Pass Rolling TA1/Q235B Explosive Welded Sheets

open access: yesMetals, 2020
The effect of rolling temperatures on the interface microstructure and mechanical properties is investigated using 2-mm-thick TA1/Q235B composite sheets, which were prepared after nine passes of hot rolling of explosive welded plates.

Effects of pre/post-aging treatment on the mechanical properties and texture of asymmetrically rolled 6061 aluminum alloy: formability and planar anisotropy

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2023
6061 aluminum (Al) alloys were asymmetrically rolled to apply shear deformation, and the effects of pre/post-aging treatment on the mechanical properties and texture evolution were analyzed.

Evaluation of rolling shear strength of plywood by flexural vibration method

open access: yesJournal of Wood Science, 1998
The rolling shear strength of plywood was evaluated using a flexural vibration test. Test specimens were lauan and Douglas fir three-ply plywoods made from thick veneers. The dynamic shear and Young's moduli were determined using the flexural vibration method, which involved in-plane and out-of-plane flexural vibration.

Microstructure and bonding properties of hot-rolled 7075/AZ31B clad sheets

open access: yes工程科学学报, 2020
Magnesium/aluminum (Mg/Al) bimetallic laminated composites have attracted considerable attention because of their excellent properties. Mg alloys are lightweight structural metals with low density and excellent properties such as high stiffness-to-weight

Dimerization of a selectin and its ligand stabilizes cell rolling and enhances tether strength in shear flow [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 2001
Selectins mediate rolling of leukocytes by rapid formation and dissociation of selectin–ligand bonds, which are assumed to require high mechanical strength to prevent premature dissociation by the forces applied in shear flow. This assumption is based largely on the observation that increasing wall shear stress increases only modestly the dissociation ...
