Computer simulations in room acoustics: Concepts and uncertainties

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2013
Geometrical acoustics are used as a standard model for room acoustic design and consulting. Research on room acoustic simulation focuses on a more accurate modeling of propagation effects such as diffraction and other wave effects in rooms, and on scattering.

Real-time virtual room acoustic simulation

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2003
A realistic virtual room acoustic simulation has been implemented on a PC-based computer in near real-time. Room acoustics are calculated by the image source method using realistic absorption coefficients for a variety of realistic surfaces and programmed in MATLAB.

Room Acoustics Measurement System Design using Simulation

2006 IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Technology Conference Proceedings, 2006
Room acoustics is currently achieved more based on acoustic expertise than on engineering design. Among the reasons for this situation are the limitations due to acoustic measurements system design and the unsolved difficulties in solving inverse acoustic room problem given acoustic requirements.

Room acoustics simulator

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1982
Room acoustics simulation is achieved by digitally defining delay and weighting parameters and generating sampled analog signal responses. In the early portion of a response term an accurate impulse response is provided and subsequently high echo density is simulated using sampled analog signal Schroeder sections. A sampled data analog signal device is

Customized Room Acoustics Simulations Using Scripting Interfaces

Proceedings of Meetings on Acoustics, 2011
Geometrical computer modeling is commonly used in consulting practice to make predictions of room acoustical quality. A large number of new parameters have been created by academicians and acousticians in recent years—so much so that it has been difficult for room acoustics simulation providers to include them all.

Acoustic simulations of studio control rooms

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2002
The results of studio-control-room computer simulations with a ray-tracing-type computer program will be presented. Although the validity of ray-tracing simulations of small rooms and at low frequencies may be questionable, the early time echogram at mid and high frequencies obtained by ray tracing provide essential information. Reflections up to 20 ms
