Room-Temperature Solid-State Maser Amplifier

open access: yesPhysical Review X
Masers once represented the state of the art in low-noise microwave amplification technology but eventually became obsolete due to their need for cryogenic cooling.

Room temperature luminescence and ferromagnetism of AlN:Fe

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2016
AlN:Fe polycrystalline powders were synthesized by a modified solid state reaction (MSSR) method. Powder X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy results reveal the single phase nature of the doped samples.

Electrochemistry of aluminium in room temperature A1C13-TMPAC molten salts.

open access: yes, 1997
PhDAluminium can be electrodeposited on tungsten, aluminium, platinum, nickel and glassy carbon from 2: 1 A1C13-TMPAC (trimethylphenylammonium chloride) molten salts at room temperature.

Room-Temperature Chemical Synthesis of C2

open access: yes, 2019
Diatomic carbon (C2) is historically an elusive chemical species. It has long been believed that the generation of C2 requires extremely high “physical” energy, such as an electric carbon arc or multiple photon excitation, and so it has been the general ...

Ambient temperature carbon nanotube ammonia sensor on CMOS platform [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We report here the development of a resistive single wall carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) sensor, based on a CMOS substrate that responds at ambient temperature to ppm levels of ammonia.

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Impacts of room temperature on the performance of a portable propane air conditioner

open access: yes, 2015
The performance of a portable propane air conditioner system, in which the temperatures of the air passing over the condenser and evaporator are equal, has been experimentally investigated under different room temperatures and refrigerant charge levels ...

Dual PI3K/AKT and CDK4/6 inhibition reveals selective sensitivity in an SHH medulloblastoma stem cell model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Targeted therapy was evaluated in SHH medulloblastoma using neuroepithelial stem cell (NES) and tumor‐derived NES‐like (tNES) models in 2D monolayers and 3D spheroids. PI3K, AKT, and CDK4/6 inhibitors had minimal effects in NES but markedly reduced viability and growth and induced apoptosis in tNES cells, revealing distinct therapeutic vulnerabilities.
