Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

MRI in soils: determination of water concent changes due to root water uptake by means of a multi-slice-multi-echo sequence (MSME)

open access: yes, 2010
Root water uptake by ricinus communis (castor bean) in fine sand was investigated using MRI with multiecho sampling. Before starting the experiments the plants germinated and grew for 3 weeks in a cylindrical container with a diameter of 9 cm ...

Completely Integrable Systems Associated with Classical Root Systems

open access: yesSymmetry, Integrability and Geometry: Methods and Applications, 2007
We study integrals of completely integrable quantum systems associated with classical root systems. We review integrals of the systems invariant under the corresponding Weyl group and as their limits we construct enough integrals of the non-invariant ...

Trickle irrigation systems affect spatial distribution of roots of banana crop

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Engenharia Agrícola e Ambiental
Trickle irrigation has been largely used for banana in Brazil, mainly due to the increase in water and fertilizer use efficiency. These irrigation systems have different options concerning number, type and flow rate of emitters as well as for hydraulics,

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Hairy Root Culture: Bioreactor Design and Process Intensification

open access: yes, 2013
The cultivation of hairy roots for the production of secondary metabolites offers numerous advantages; hairy roots have a fast growth rate, are genetically stable, and are relatively simple to maintain in phytohormone free media.

On infinite root systems

open access: yes, 1989
We define in an axiomatic fashion the concept of a set of root data that generalizes the usual concept of root system of a Kac-Moody Lie algebra. We study these objects from a purely formal and geometrical point of view as well as in relation to their ...

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.
