Chloroplast-localized nonspecific lipid transfer protein with anti-fungal activity from rough lemon

open access: yesChloroplast-localized nonspecific lipid transfer protein with anti-fungal activity from rough lemon
A full-length cDNA (RlemLTP) from rough lemon that encodes a nonspecific lipid transfer protein was isolated. Results of subcellular localization of RlemLTP fused to a green fluorescence protein indicated that RlemLTP is located in the chloroplast. Transcripts of RlemLTP were detected in leaves and seeds but not in stems and roots. The transcription of

Assessing the Impact of Agrivoltaics on Water, Energy, and Carbon Cycles Using the Community Land Model Version 5

open access: yesJournal of Advances in Modeling Earth Systems, Volume 18, Issue 2, February 2026.
Abstract Agrivoltaics, combining agriculture with photovoltaic systems, offers a promising solution to address land‐use conflict between food and energy production. However, the complexities of agrivoltaics and its effects on the water‐energy‐carbon interactions remain poorly understood.

Do Adverse Events Influence Time Preferences? Evidence From Smallholder African Farmers

open access: yesJournal of Agricultural Economics, Volume 77, Issue 1, Page 130-155, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Time preferences play a critical role in the agri‐food value chains of low‐income countries, impacting the choices of local operators, including innovation uptake. This paper assesses the association between smallholder farmers' individual characteristics, their exposure to diverse adverse events, and their intertemporal choices using in‐the ...

The Role of Soil Microorganisms in Microplastic Biodegradation: Mechanisms, Carbon Preferences, and Ecological Impacts

open access: yesEnvironmental Microbiology Reports, Volume 18, Issue 1, February 2026.
This work explores the complex relationship between soil carbon availability and microplastic biodegradation, highlighting competition and symbiosis among microorganisms, the repurposing of microplastic‐derived polymers, and the impact of soil organic carbon on microbial substrate preferences and carbon use efficiency variability.
