IGFBP4 knockdown (KD) impairs preadipocyte proliferation and is associated with IGF1R protein downregulation and attenuated AKT phosphorylation. The mechanisms by which IGFBP4 KD influences the IGF1R/AKT signaling pathway involve newly synthesized proteins and lysosomal degradation pathways. Created in BioRender.

Evaluating the effect of γ‐oryzanol on MASLD pathology using a medaka fish model
This study explores a liver disease called MASLD, which is increasing worldwide and can lead to serious damage. Researchers used medaka fish instead of rodents to test a food compound, γ‐oryzanol. Fish fed this compound had less liver fat and healthier gut bacteria.

Background High flow nasal cannula (HFNC) is increasingly being used to support patients with acute respiratory failure (ARF) and to avoid need for intubation. However, almost one third of the patients do not respond and require escalation of respiratory

Predictive performance of ROX index and its variations for NIV failure
To determine whether the ROX index and its variations can predict the risk of intubation in ICU patients receiving NIV ventilation using large public ICU databases.Retrospective observational cohort study.Patient data was extracted from both the AmsterdamUMCdb and the MIMIC-IV ICU databases, which contained data related to 20,109 and 50,920 unique ...

Dynamic compression enhances mesenchymal stromal cell proliferation in nonwoven PET scaffolds under chondrogenic differentiation conditions and triggers mechanosensitive transcriptional programs associated with extracellular matrix remodeling. These findings highlight the potential of mechanically stimulated PET scaffolds as a promising platform for ...

ABSTRACT The demand for off‐the‐shelf biocompatible bone substitutes has driven the development of numerous independent in vitro technologies to generate products resembling physiological tissues. Due to technical challenges and overly simplified cultivation approaches/niches, the end‐products are often uniformly shaped and inferior to native bone ...

Employing a digital single‐molecule activity tracker (dSMAT), this research demonstrates that high‐photon‐flux irradiation drives progressive oxidative scarring in polymerases. Unlike simple thermal denaturation, real‐time kinetic tracking dynamically visualizes enzymes degrading into multiple impaired subpopulations.
