Cyclins and Cyclin‐Dependent Kinases: Structure, Biological Functions, and Innovative Targeting Strategies in Cancer

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 9, September 2026.
This work synthesizes recent insights into the pathological roles of cyclins and cyclin‐dependent kinases (CDKs) across human cancers, highlights state‐of‐the‐art innovative approaches (especially targeted degradation and redistribution of CDK/cyclin proteins) for cancer therapy, and outlines future directions for CDK/cyclin‐related biomedical research.

Harnessing MDM2‐Mediated Targeted Degradation of Transcriptional and Epigenetic Machinery to Disrupt Oncogenic Addictions in Pediatric Sarcoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 45, 13 August 2026.
MDM2 dependency in pediatric sarcomas is driven by a novel p53‐independent oncogenic cistrome alongside canonical p53 pathway suppression. This study introduces MDM2‐recruiting transcriptional and epigenetic machinery degraders (MDM2‐TEMADs) as a novel precision oncology modality.

Beyond Current Borders: Modeling the Climate‐Mediated Invasion of Fusarium incarnatum Into New Agricultural Frontiers

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 7, July 2026.
This study models the global distribution of Fusarium incarnatum under current and future climate scenarios using MaxEnt and Bioclim approaches. Model projections identify regions of high suitability across temperate and subtropical zones, with consensus between modeling methods indicating the most reliable predictions.

Evolutionary Conservation of Reproductive Strategies in the Lichen Genus Cetrelia (Parmeliaceae, Ascomycota): Insights Into Symbiont Interactions and Macroclimatic Influences

open access: yesDiversity and Distributions, Volume 32, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Aim Fungi show a variety of reproductive strategies, switching between haploid and diploid forms to benefit from both, the acquisition of genetic variability through sexual reproduction and rapid population growth via asexual reproduction. Throughout the history of lichenology, lichen reproductive modes (e.g., soredia, isidia, apothecia) have ...

Sus1 Modulates Chromatin Remodeling and Gene Expression via the Cell Wall Integrity Pathway in Saccharomyces cerevisiae

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 9, 15 May 2026.
Cell wall stress in yeast triggers transcriptional reprogramming through the CWI pathway. This study identifies Sus1, a subunit of SAGA and TREX‐2, as a key regulator in this process. Sus1 associates with stress‐responsive genes, promoting pre‐initiation complex assembly, chromatin remodeling, and RNA Pol II progression independently of H2B ...

NaV1.7 mRNA and Protein Expression in Resident Neurons of the Human Spinal Dorsal Horn

open access: yesJournal of Comparative Neurology, Volume 534, Issue 5, May 2026.
We identified Nav1.7 mRNA and protein in human spinal cord neurons, a subset of which co‐expressed putative projection neuron markers, TACR1 and GPR83. These neurons relay nociceptive signals from the periphery to the brain. While Nav1.7 loss‐of‐function mutations cause congenital insensitivity to pain, traditionally linked to sensory neurons, our ...

A Super‐Pangenome for Cultivated Citrus Reveals Evolutive Features During the Allopatric Phase of Their Reticulate Evolution

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, Volume 24, Issue 5, Page 3345-3367, May 2026.
Structure of the cultivated citrus super‐pangenome. ABSTRACT The main genetic diversity observed in cultivated citrus results from a reticulate evolution involving four ancestral taxa whose radiation occurred in allopatry. In such context, GWAS analysis, genome diversity and transcriptomic studies will be significantly enhanced through pangenome ...

Recent Advances in Biology, Epidemiology and Host Resistance to Potato Powdery Scab

open access: yesPlant Pathology, Volume 75, Issue 3, May–June 2026.
This review highlights recent advances in understanding powdery scab and potato resistance, providing new perspectives for developing durable and integrated strategies to manage the disease. ABSTRACT Powdery scab of potatoes (Solanum tuberosum) is caused by the soil‐borne protist Spongospora subterranea f. sp. subterranea (Sss).

Discovery of a First‐in‐Class Murine Double Minute 2‐Recruiting Positive Transcription Elongation Factor B PROTAC Degrader With Selective Antitumor Activity

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 4, April 2026.
This study reports the development of dCDK9‐010, a first‐in‐class, selective MDM2‐recruiting CDK9/cyclin T PROTAC degrader with compelling in vivo antitumor efficacy and safety profile. This degrader potently inhibits RNA polymerase II phosphorylation and interferences with MDM2‐mediated p53 degradation, resulting in concurrent transcription disruption

First Report of Ophiostoma clavatum and Fusarium verticillioides Associated With Ips acuminatus‐Infested Scots Pine in Western Ukraine

open access: yesPlant-Environment Interactions, Volume 7, Issue 2, April 2026.
This study provides the first record of Ophiostoma clavatum associated with Ips acuminatus in Ukraine, and the first evidence of Fusarium verticillioides coexisting with ophiostomatoid fungi in infested Scots pines. This fungal association may contribute to the decline of Scots pine stands.
