Aqueous Humour Cytokines as Predictors of Axial Elongation in High Myopia: A 2‐Year Longitudinal Cohort Study

open access: yesClinical &Experimental Ophthalmology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background To investigate the predictive value of aqueous humour cytokines for axial elongation. Methods This was a prospective longitudinal observational study. 72 high myopia patients (72 eyes) who received implantable collamer lens (ICL) implantation surgery with at least 2 years of follow‐up were included.

Stage‐Associated Microglial Subpopulations and Dynamics in Vascular Pathogenesis of Oxygen‐Induced Retinopathy

open access: yesCell Proliferation, EarlyView.
In the oxygen‐induced retinopathy (OIR) mouse model, two distinct microglial subpopulations play opposing roles: highly glycolytic microglia (HGM) promote neovascular formation via Pkm2, while Mrc1/CD206‐positive phagocytosis‐associated microglia (PAM) facilitate its regression.

Effects of subretinal implant materials on the viability, apoptosis and barrier function of cultured RPE cells

open access: yes, 2007
Background: Subretinal microphotodiode array (MPDA) is a type of visual prosthesis used for the implantation in the subretinal space of patients with progressive photoreceptor cell loss.

Expert considerations to guide the development and delivery of an exercise intervention in people with type 2 diabetes‐related foot ulcer disease

open access: yesDiabetic Medicine, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Engaging in exercise presents unique challenges for those with type 2 diabetes (T2D) and diabetes‐related foot ulcer disease (DFUD). This brief report describes the development of practical considerations aiming to support exercise in people with T2D and DFUD.

Maternal and child mental health and incident migraine in adolescence: An “All Our Families” prospective cohort study

open access: yesHeadache: The Journal of Head and Face Pain, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective To examine the association between mental health symptoms in youth and their mothers, and youth incident migraine, using prospectively collected, longitudinal data from the “All Our Families” (AOF) cohort study. Background Internalizing mental health symptoms, such as anxiety and depression, whether experienced by a child or his/her ...

The positive correlation between the progressive photoreceptor damage and the increased macular leakage indicating the severity of diabetic retinopathy

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes Investigation, EarlyView.
The dark area of photoreceptor cells, as measured by adaptive optics laser scanning ophthalmoscopy, shows significant enlargement with the progression of diabetic retinopathy (DR). A similar trend is observed for macular vascular leakage assessed by fundus fluorescein angiography. A positive correlation exists between these two parameters, suggesting a

Ocular Manifestations of Infectious Salmon Anaemia Virus Infection in Atlantic Salmon (Salmo salar)

open access: yesJournal of Fish Diseases, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Eyes are essential sensory organs needed by teleost Atlantic salmon for high visual acuity and survival in both the wild and in aquaculture settings. In this work, we assessed the ocular manifestations of Infectious Salmon Anaemia Virus (ISAV) infection in Atlantic salmon by a cohabitation‐mediated infection assay and histological and ...

Rhododendron diversity patterns provide new insights for conserving China's montane flora

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Plant Biology, EarlyView.
Integrating distribution, phylogenetic, and functional trait data for 603 Rhododendron species in China identified significant conservation hotspots of multidimensional diversity, particularly in the Hengduan Mountains. Climate seasonality and topographic heterogeneity jointly influenced these patterns; however, notable conservation gaps remained ...
