Two-dimensional beams in rectangular coordinates using the radial point interpolation method
The three-dimensional Theory of Elasticity equations lead to a complex solution for most problems in engineering. Therefore, the solutions are typically developed for reduced systems, usually symmetrical or two-dimensional. In this context, computational

Circular thin plates buckling analysis with HRPIM method [PDF]
This paper aims to introduce a new approach to simulate geometrically nonlinear problems that require shape functions with higher order continuity such as the buckling analysis of circular thin and thick plates based on two theories; Classical plate ...

Numerical simulations of a fully developed liquid-metal magnetohydrodynamic flow in a circular duct
In this paper, a kind of new meshless method, two-level radial point interpolation method, has been developed to analyze the fully developed liquid-metal Magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flow under the externally applied magnetic field in a circular duct with ...

Numerical Simulation of Thermal Field in Mass Concrete With Pipe Water Cooling
Water pipe cooling is mainly used to control temperature in the construction of mass concrete structures. It is important to reveal how to accurately stimulate the temperature field of mass concrete under action of this water pipe cooling.

Angiotensin I‐converting enzyme (ACE) contains two catalytic domains (nACE and cACE) and is a key therapeutic target for hypertension and cardiovascular disease. Current ACE inhibitors (ACEi) nonselectively inhibit both domains, causing adverse effects. Selective inhibition requires an understanding of domain‐specific binding.

NURBS-Enhanced Meshfree Method with an Integration Subtraction Technique for Complex Topology
In this paper, we present an integration subtraction technique to model holes interactively in a predesigned domain for adaptive problems. This technique involves two approaches, the normal subtraction technique and the moving subtraction technique.

The genes PH0137, PH0138, and PH0140 form a cluster in the genome of Pyrococcus horikoshii. The PH0140 gene encodes a transcription factor identified as a d‐amino acid‐responsive regulatory protein (DARP). In feast mode, l‐Ile‐bound DARP binds to the promoter and represses transcription of PH0137 and PH0138. In famine mode, DARP binds to d‐allo‐Ile and
