Cell Segmentation Beyond 2D—A Review of the State‐of‐the‐Art

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
Cell segmentation underpins many biological image analysis tasks, yet most deep learning methods remain limited to 2D despite the inherently 3D nature of cellular processes. This review surveys segmentation approaches beyond 2D, comparing 2.5D and fully 3D methods, analyzing 31 models and 32 volumetric datasets, and introducing a unified reference ...

Toward Complex In‐Car Environment Human–Vehicle Interactions Through Smart Glasses and sEMG‐Based Gesture Recognition

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This study proposes a novel weighted random forest multimodal fusion method that combines smart glasses and sEMG data for in‐vehicle gesture interaction. It realizes stable performance in dim, occluded, and other constrained scenarios, providing feasible solutions and laying a foundation for universal human–machine interaction.

The Risk Priority Number Evaluation of FMEA Analysis Based on Random Uncertainty and Fuzzy Uncertainty

open access: yesComplexity, 2021
The risk priority number (RPN) calculation method is one of the critical subjects of failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) research. Recently, RPN research under a fuzzy uncertainty environment has become a hot topic.

Proposal for Use of Dematel Model in Combination With FMEA and FMECA Methods

open access: yesActa Technologica Agriculturae
The elimination of time, cost, and material losses is the ultimate goal of any organisation. Reliability can also negatively impact these losses; therefore, our aim is to use tools which can prevent this from occurring.

Risk Priority Number: A Measuring Instrument for Hygienic Management on Broiler Farms, Reflecting Their Campylobacter Status

open access: yesAgriculture, 2013
Hygiene management is essential for rearing Campylobacter free broiler flocks. In this study, several hygiene factors (e.g., thinning, water supply, stable cloths, stable condition, stable environment, etc.) are categorized and aggregated in a developed ...

Longitudinal Swallowing and Salivary Changes With CLR 131 and Re‐Irradiation in Recurrent Head and Neck Cancer

open access: yesHead &Neck, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Patients with recurrent head and neck cancer (HNC) often present with severe, persistent dysphagia and xerostomia following prior chemoradiation. Although swallowing impairments and salivary dysfunction have been reported in this population, prior longitudinal studies have not examined changes in salivary composition or how these ...

Advancing global hindcast of extreme sea levels: Insights from a 65-year study

open access: yesWeather and Climate Extremes
Extreme sea levels (ESLs) are a leading cause of coastal hazards. Assessing risks and associated impacts requires reliable ESL statistics. These are typically derived from long but sparsely available tide-gauge records or through records obtained from ...

Radiographers' Paediatric CT Radiation Dose Consideration: A Quantitative Study at Hospitals in Urban South Africa

open access: yesJournal of Medical Radiation Sciences, EarlyView.
This descriptive quantitative survey and a cross‐sectional design present an investigation on paediatric radiation dose consideration by radiographers. Paediatric patients have a higher dose risk related to CT scan exposures. This study showed that there are gaps in specialised training and a need for stricter paediatric imaging protocols.
