Assessing in-session rumination during CBT for depression: Replication and further evaluation of an observational measure

open access: yesJournal of Mood and Anxiety Disorders
This study sought to further evaluate an observational measure of rumination that occurs during psychotherapy (i.e., in-session rumination). Specifically, the study aimed to replicate the reliability of an observational rating procedure in new therapy ...

Microstructure, Thermal Transport, and Dry‐Sliding Tribology of Powder‐Metallurgy Al7075 Composites Reinforced With Sol–Gel‐Derived ZnO–rGO Hybrid Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Sol–gel‐derived ZnO–rGO hybrid nanoparticles enable Al7075 powder‐metallurgy composites to achieve concurrent gains in hardness and thermal conductivity while markedly lowering friction and wear. The hybrid architecture couples ZnO‐based load support with rGO‐assisted lamellar sliding and heat spreading, revealing a promising route toward lightweight ...

The Potential of Wearable Sensors for Detecting Cognitive Rumination: A Scoping Review

open access: yesSensors
Cognitive rumination, a transdiagnostic symptom across mental health disorders, has traditionally been assessed through self-report measures. However, these measures are limited by their temporal nature and subjective bias.

Influence of Scan Strategies in Electron Beam Powder Bed Fusion on Solidification, Microstructure, and High‐Temperature Compressive Properties of γ′‐Strengthened Inconel 738LC

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Experiments and thermophysical simulations were conducted to investigate the electron beam powder bed fusion electron beam (PBF‐EB/M) process for the γ′‐strengthened nickel‐based superalloy Inconel 738LC. The results demonstrate the impact of process‐induced microstructural variations on high‐temperature mechanical behavior, providing a basis for ...

Additive Manufacturing of Alumina‐Reinforced Elastomers

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Vat‐photopolymerized elastomers reinforced with platelet‐shaped alumina exhibited preferential orientation, reduced porosity, and significantly enhanced mechanical performance. A 3 wt% platelet loading increased tensile strength from 12.4 to 45.7 MPa, highlighting the critical role of filler morphology in elastomeric VPP composites.

High‐Temperature Phase Transformation in a V‐9Si‐6.5B Alloy: The Kinetic and Crystallographic Pathway From V5SiB2 to V8SiB4

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
In situ synchrotron high‐energy X‐ray diffraction reveals the real‐time high‐temperature phase evolution of a ternary V‐9Si‐6.5B alloy. The study uncovers a kinetically delayed V5SiB2 → V8SiB4 transformation governed by massive structural and chemical barriers.

Time patterns of feeding and rumination in domestic cattle

open access: yes
For the maintenance of its caloric and nutritional balance, an animal must consume food. The level of intake ultimately depends upon the factors that govern onset and cessation of the successive feeding spells. These factors may be studied either at the purely behavioural level, or at the level of the underlying physiological mechanisms.

Enhanced Ultrasound Transmission Through Aberration Layers Using Space‐Coiling Acoustic Metamaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Enhancing ultrasound transmission through an aberration layer exhibiting mismatched impedance with the surrounding medium possesses great implications in imaging and treatment. In this study, we show that a space‐coiling acoustic metamaterial with judiciously tailored structural profile can help improve impedance matching.

The good old times?!: the relationship between regret and rumination in older adults

open access: yesThe Journals of Gerontology, Series B: Psychological Sciences and Social Sciences
Abstract Objectives As people age, reflecting on missed opportunities can create a self-sustaining cycle of regret and rumination, potentially affecting mental health. This study explores the relationship between regret and self-critical rumination in older adults and examines whether a general

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.
