Engineering and characterization of a long half-life relaxin receptor RXFP1 agonist
2022Abstract Relaxin-2 is a peptide hormone with important roles in human cardiovascular and reproductive biology. Its ability to activate cellular responses such as vasodilation, angiogenesis, and anti-inflammatory and anti-fibrotic effects have led to significant interest in using relaxin-2 as a therapeutic for heart ...

1698 PRESENCE OF RXFP1 RECEPTORS IN PEYRONIE'S DISEASE PLAQUE TISSUE
Journal of Urology, 2012evaluated by using ANCOVA. Chi square test was used to evaluate the association between existence or direction of curvature and ED. RESULTS: A total of 220 patients with PD underwent penile Doppler ultrasound assessment between 2008-2010. The mean age of the patients was 55.0 9 and 69.5% had vasculogenic ED (10% arteriogenic, 43.2% venogenic and 16.4 ...

The function of relaxin in human reproductive processes remains poorly understood. Nevertheless, relaxin is produced by the prostate in men and by the corpora lutea of ovaries and endometrium in women. Previous studies with contrasting results have suggested a possible role of relaxin on sperm function and fertilization.

Targeting RXFP1 by Ligustilide: A novel therapeutic approach for alcoholic hepatic steatosis
International ImmunopharmacologyLigustilide (Lig) is the main active ingredient of Umbelliferae Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Chinese Angelica) and Chuanxiong Rhizoma (Sichuan lovase rhizome). Lig possesses various pharmacological properties and could treat obesity by regulating energy metabolism.

1769-P: Development of Adipose Fibrosis and Dysfunction in Aged Rxfp1-/- Mice
Diabetes, 2019The hormone relaxin has roles in insulin sensitivity and age-related fibrosis in several organs, but the effect on adipose is unknown. Given the association of adipose fibrosis to dysfunction and progression of metabolic disease, we analyzed adipose tissue in aged mice lacking the relaxin receptor RXFP1.

Alpha-adrenergic activation upregulates expression of relaxin receptor RXFP1 in cardiomyocytes.
Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences, 2009Cardiac RXFP1 was upregulated upon activation of the alpha(1)-adrenergic receptor (AR) through signal pathways involving protein kinase A and C and ERK. In contrast, beta(1)-AR activation downregulated expression of cardiac RXFP1 and it further counteracted the alpha(1)-AR-mediated RXFP1 upregulation.
