Three-Step One-Pot Photocatalytic Oxidation of Feedstocks and Organocatalytic Sequential Cascade to Access Enantioenriched α-Aminonitriles. [PDF]

A one‐pot, three‐step cascade from simple feedstocks to chiral building blocks is reported. By merging organic photocatalysis and noncovalent organocatalysis, benzylic substrates are transformed into enantioenriched α‐aminonitriles via CH photooxidation, imine formation, and asymmetric Strecker reaction. The method affords good yields, up to 96:4 e.r.,
