Neutral physical compact spherically symmetric stars with non-exotic matters in Einstein’s cluster model using Weitzenböck geometry

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2020
We revisit the neutral (uncharged) solutions that describe Einstein’s clusters with matters in the frame of Weitzenböck geometry. To this end, we use a tetrad field with non-diagonal spherical symmetry which gives vanishing of the off-diagonal components

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Residual tail twisting in ascidian larvae is stabilized by asymmetric myofibrils that resist bilateral symmetry restoration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

How labeling of genetically modified foods affects consumers’ purchase intentions: a multi-contextual analysis

open access: yesGM Crops & Food
As a critical carrier for ensuring consumer right-to-know and facilitating risk communication, the effectiveness of genetically modified (GM) labeling is influenced by cognitive biases, yet its behavioral impact remains underexplored, particularly in non-

Biophysical approaches for studying viral entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Viruses infect all living organisms and have been responsible for major epidemics and pandemics. Their ongoing evolutionary battle with host defenses creates a constant need for improved tools to study viral behavior. Advancing methods to probe viral attachment, fusion, and genome release deepen our understanding of how infections begin and support the

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.
