Mathematical model for calculation of thickness of flame sprayed coating of aluminium on S235JR steel [PDF]
In the present work, the method of response surfaces was employed for the purpose of drawing up a mathematical model for the calculation (forecasting) of the thickness of a flame sprayed coating of powdered aluminium on S235JR steel. Experimental work was conducted according to a full central composite design at three levels.

Fire Protection of Steel Beam by OSB Claddings—A Fire Experiment and Numerical Models
ABSTRACT This paper presents the results of a standard fire resistance test of a loaded steel beam in a horizontal furnace. The beam was tested in three configurations: (1) unprotected, (2) protected with a single 22 mm layer of oriented strand board, and (3) protected with a double layer of the same cladding.

Abstract The object of this investigation is to determine the influence of the jet velocity on the weld quality of sheet joints produced via magnetic pulse welding. The use of a suitable high‐speed camera system enables to observe the jet in detail, to determine its velocity during the collision process and to compare them to the achieved qualities ...

Toward Continuous Electrochemical Synthesis of Ferrate
Ferrate synthesis using sacrificial iron anodes is studied at technical current densities. Anode passivation is overcome using spheroidal graphite cast iron as anode. A novel electrolysis cell allows the installation of rod‐shaped anodes with a combined surface area of 230 cm2.

Multiphysics Model of an MR Damper including Magnetic Hysteresis
Hysteresis is one of key factors influencing the output of magnetorheological (MR) actuators. The actuators reveal two primary sources of hysteresis. The hydro(mechanical) hysteresis can be related to flow dynamics mechanisms and is frequency‐ or rate‐dependent.

Quantitative Thermometry: A Revived Simplified Approach to Fatigue Strength Determination and Deformation Mechanisms [PDF]
It has long been known that plastic deformation and fatigue damage lead to a heat generation im metals. In the past two decades, thermographic approaches have been improved by thermography and widely adapted to obtain an estimate for the fatigue strength
