Emergency Department Serum Electrolyte Patterns in Paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Clin Lab Anal
Serum electrolyte imbalances, particularly in sodium, potassium, and magnesium, are significantly associated with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation in emergency settings. Emergency physicians should monitor and correct these electrolytes to improve early PAF management and potentially prevent adverse outcomes. ABSTRACT Background Little is known about the

Mechanism of Solid Solution‐Driven Texture Induced by Ag Doping in YBCO Superconductor

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Ag‐doped YBCO with a designed concentration gradient is produced by dual‐material co‐extrusion and freeze‐drying. During annealing, Ag+ ions diffuse into Y123, substituting for Cu(1) and inducing c‐axis relaxation. This leads to the formation of [001]‐oriented YBCAO, creating a coherent interface that templates the textured growth of Y123. Consequently,

Atomically precise metal cluster enzymes for pathological tissue regeneration

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
Schematic illustration of atomically precise metal cluster enzymes (MCEs) for pathological tissue regeneration. Atomically precise MCEs can modulate biological processes, such as attenuation of inflammatory responses, eradication of bacterial pathogens, regulation of angiogenesis, and promotion of cell development.

Combined genetic and genomic approaches to characterize a durable Hevea resistance to South American leaf blight : S01T07 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The South American Leaf Blight (SALB), due to the Ascomycota Microcyclus ulei, threatens the world production of natural rubber, based on the cultivation of nearly only one species: the tropical tree Hevea brasiliensis.

Structure and composition of supported lipid bilayers: a comparison between solvent‐assisted lipid bilayer and vesicle fusion methods

open access: yesJournal of Applied Crystallography, EarlyView.
Neutron reflectometry is used to compare supported lipid bilayers formed by vesicle fusion and solvent‐assisted lipid bilayer (SALB) methods, revealing structurally comparable architectures with minor differences in acyl chain thickness and low residual solvent incorporation.

Serum Cholesterol Concentration on Admission in 415 Dogs Envenomated by Daboia (Vipera) palaestinae as a Marker of Envenomation Severity and Outcome—A Retrospective Study

open access: yesToxins, 2023
Daboia (Vipera) palaestinae (Dp), accounts for most envenomations in humans and dogs in Israel. In humans envenomed by Dp, serum cholesterol concentration (sChol) is inversely correlated with envenomation severity.

In Vivo Propagation of Root Explants of the Dandelion Species Taraxacum kok‐saghyz, Taraxacum officinale and Their Interspecific Hybrids

open access: yesPlant Breeding, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The dandelion species Taraxacum kok‐saghyz is a promising new crop for natural rubber production and is currently in the early stages of the breeding process. To support these efforts, the multiplication and conservation of defined genotypes are crucial.

Dogs as sources and sentinels of parasites in humans and wildlife, northern Canada [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
A minimum of 11 genera of parasites, including 7 known or suspected to cause zoonoses, were detected in dogs in 2 northern Canadian communities. Dogs in remote settlements receive minimal veterinary care and may serve as sources and sentinels for ...
