The effects of various final irrigants on the bond strength of root dentin exposed to chloroform: An In vitro study

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacy and Bioallied Sciences, 2021
Aim: The aim of the study was to assess the reaction of different final irrigants to the bond strength of root dentin exposed to chloroform. Materials and Methods: Fifty extracted maxillary central incisors were selected.

Mitochondrial fatty acid oxidation is stimulated by red light irradiation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Light at different wavelengths has distinct effects on keratinocyte viability and metabolism. UVA light abrogates metabolic fluxes. Blue and green light have no effect on metabolic fluxes, while red light enhanced oxidative phosphorylation by promoting fatty acid oxidation. Keratinocytes are the primary constituents of sunlight‐exposed epidermis.

An assessment of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) genotypes under saline and waterlogged compacted soil conditions, I: grain yield and yield components [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
A pot experiment was conducted to study effects of salinity and waterlogging under soil compaction conditions on grain yield and yield components of wheat. Treatments were arranged in a factorial layout assigned to a randomized complete design with three

Nitric oxide donation lowers blood pressure in adrenocorticotrophic hormone-induced hypertensive rats.

open access: yes, 2004
Adrenocorticotrophic hormone (ACTH) elevates systolic blood pressure (SBP) and lowers plasma reactive nitrogen intermediates in rats. We assessed the ability of NO donation from isosorbide dinitrate (ISDN) to prevent or reverse the hypertension caused by

Biological and technical variables affecting immunoassay recovery of cytokines from human serum and simulated vaginal fluid: A multicenter study [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The increase of proinflammatory cytokines in vaginal secretions may serve as a surrogate marker of unwanted inflammatory reaction to microbicide products topically applied for the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV-1. Interleukin (

Comparison of different betadine and saline combinations on microorganisms: An original research

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacy and Bioallied Sciences
Introduction: Pathogenic bacteria in the oral cavity or a physiological microbiome imbalance can cause or maintain disease. Thus, this work examined a novel betadine–saline combination for antibacterial and antifungal activities.

A Cre‐dependent lentiviral vector for neuron subtype‐specific expression of large proteins

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We designed a versatile and modular lentivector comprising a Cre‐dependent switch and self‐cleaving 2A peptide and tested it for co‐expression of GFP and a 2.8 kb gene of interest (GOI) in mouse cortical parvalbumin (PV+) interneurons and midbrain dopamine (TH+) neurons.

Targeting EZH2 reverses thyroid cell dedifferentiation and enhances iodide uptake in anaplastic thyroid cancer

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Anaplastic thyroid cancer (ATC) lacks iodide uptake ability due to MAPK activation increasing the expression of the histone methyltransferase EZH2, which represses thyroid differentiation genes (TDGs) such as the sodium iodide symporter (NIS). Dual inhibition of MAPK (U0126) and EZH2 (EPZ6438/Tazemetostat) reverses this mechanism, thus restoring TDG ...

Acute drug effects on habitual and non-habitual responding in crossed high alcohol preferring mice [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
RATIONALE: Drug reward plays a central role in acquiring drug-seeking behavior. However, subjects may continue using drugs despite negative consequences because self-administration becomes habitual, and divorced from outcome values. Although a history
