Therapeutic applications of a novel humanized monoclonal antibody targeting chemokine receptor CCR9 in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
C–C chemokine receptor type 9 (CCR9) is an immune checkpoint in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). Novel anti‐CCR9 antibody SRB2 was evaluated in combination with cytotoxic chemotherapy in PDAC cells, patient‐derived organoids, patient‐derived xenografts, and humanized mouse models.

Biochar selection for removal of perfluoroalkyl substances from reclaimed water for agricultural irrigation

open access: yesBiochar
In agricultural contexts, the presence of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) in recycled water may pose a threat to irrigated crops and the human food chain.

Synergy of reduced gypsum and pressmud – a cost effective approach for sustainable reclamation of degraded sodic lands

open access: yesThe Indian Journal of Agricultural Sciences, 2019
The effect of improved practice [IP; gypsum application @ 25% gypsum requirement (GR) +10 t/ha press mud] over existing practice (EP; gypsum application @ 50% GR) on rice productivity and profitability in sodic soils (pH 9.2-10.4) was evaluated at ...

Salinity in Water Markets : An ExperimentalInvestigation of the Sunraysia Salinity Levy, Victoria [PDF]

open access: yes
Irrigation can have a significant negative impact on the environment. Irrigation impacts contribute a significant portion to the estimated forty six million dollar cost per annum of salinity in the Murray River, Australia.

Sustainable Irrigation Management of Ornamental Cordyline Fruticosa “Red Edge” Plants with Saline Water [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The aim of this work was to analyze the influence of the salinity of the nutrient solution on the transpiration and growth of Cordyline fruticosa var. “Red Edge” plants. A specific irrigation management model was calibrated with the experimental data. An

EMT‐associated bias in the Parsortix® system observed with pancreatic cancer cell lines

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The Parsortix® system was tested for CTC enrichment using pancreatic cancer cell lines with different EMT phenotypes. Spike‐in experiments showed lower recovery of mesenchymal‐like cells. This was confirmed with an EMT‐inducible breast cancer cell line.

EXTENT OF MINERALIZATION ORGANIC FERTILIZER ON SALT AFFECTED SOIL AND THAT IMPLEMENTATION ON TOMATO [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Mineralization of organic fertilizers in saline soil is determined by the level of soil salinity. The higher levels of soil salinity, the lower the ability of organic matter mineralization. Evaluation mineralization levels assessed by the content of N,

Evaluation and modification of tumor cell isolation techniques from malignant effusions for rapid drug sensitivity testing

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Non‐small cell lung cancer targeted treatment is limited to a few known genetic alterations, with few alternatives in advanced treatment lines. To direct treatment decisions by drug sensitivity testing (DST), this study compared several methods for tumor cell isolation from malignant effusions, pointing to repeated CD45+ cell depletion for effective ...

Salinity Stress Responses and Adaptation Mechanisms in Eukaryotic Green Microalgae

open access: yesCells, 2019
High salinity is a challenging environmental stress for organisms to overcome. Unicellular photosynthetic microalgae are especially vulnerable as they have to grapple not only with ionic imbalance and osmotic stress but also with the generated reactive ...

Integrative miRNOMe profiling reveals the miR‐195‐5p–CHEK1 axis and its impact on luminal breast cancer outcomes

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In luminal (ER+) breast carcinoma (BC), miRNA profiling identified miR‐195‐5p as a key regulator of proliferation that targets CHEK1, CDC25A, and CCNE1. High CHEK1 expression correlates with worse relapse‐free survival after chemotherapy, especially in patients with luminal A subtype.
