New Efficient D‐π‐A and A‐π‐A Structured Type I Radical Photoinitiators for Additive Manufacturing Nanomaterials Preparation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Groundbreaking advancements are discovered in 3D printing with new type‐I radical photoinitiators, including 1,1‐dimethoxy‐1‐phenylpropan‐2‐one. These innovative compounds, effective under visible light, enhance photopolymerization of acrylates and methacrylates, facilitating the creation of efficient nanocomposites and unlock the future of polymer ...

Genomic insights of Salmonella isolated from dry fermented sausage production chains in Spain and France

open access: yesScientific Reports
The presence of Salmonella in dry fermented sausages is source of recalls and outbreaks. The genomic diversity of 173 Salmonella isolates from the dry fermented sausage production chains (pig carcasses, pork, and sausages) from France and Spain were ...

Salmonella: A review on pathogenesis, epidemiology and antibiotic resistance

open access: yes, 2015
Salmonella is one of the most frequently isolated foodborne pathogens. It is a major worldwide public health concern, accounting for 93.8 million foodborne illnesses and 155,000 deaths per year.

Antagonist Targeting the Species‐Specific Fatty Acid Dehydrogenase/Isomerase FabX for Anti‐H. pylori Infection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that the atypical dehydrogenase/isomerase FabX in Type‐II fatty acid biosynthesis pathway is essential for H. pylori infection by retaining unsaturated fatty acid synthesis and producing superoxide (ROS). A small molecule FBX‐1991 that specifically targets FabX to inhibit H.

Recent advances in the characterization of Crl, the unconventional activator of the stress sigma factor σS/RpoS

open access: yesBiomolecular Concepts, 2016
The bacterial RNA polymerase (RNAP) holoenzyme is a multisubunit core enzyme associated with a σ factor that is required for promoter-specific transcription initiation. Besides a primary σ responsible for most of the gene expression during active growth,

Molecular techniques to characterize the invA genes of Salmonella spp. for pathogen inactivation study in composting [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2014
The relatively low concentration of pathogen indicators, such Salmonella, in composting sometimes causes a problem with detection when using the conventional techniques. The presence of viable but non-culturable (VBNC) organisms is also a potential problem with Salmonella detection when using conventional techniques.

Structural and Biochemical Characterization of a Widespread Enterobacterial Peroxidase Encapsulin

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Encapsulins are self‐assembling bacterial protein compartments loaded with cargo enzymes. The most abundant encapsulin cargo class are Dye‐decolorizing Peroxidases (DyPs). In this study, we structurally and biochemically characterize a DyP encapsulin found in many enterobacteria.

Impact of Salmonella genome rearrangement on gene expression

open access: yesEvolution Letters, Volume 6, Issue 6, Page 426-437, December 2022., 2022
Abstract In addition to nucleotide variation, many bacteria also undergo changes at a much larger scale via rearrangement of their genome structure (GS) around long repeat sequences. These rearrangements result in genome fragments shifting position and/or orientation in the genome without necessarily affecting the underlying nucleotide sequence.

Serum Neopterin in Differential Diagnosis of Bacterial Diarrhea in Pediatric Patients

open access: yesPteridines, 2019
Background: Neopterin, regarded as a marker of cellular immune activation, has been used in diagnosis of infection caused by intracellular pathogens. We have aimed to evaluate the clinical usefulness of serum neopterin (NPT) in acute bacterial diarrhea ...

Survival of Salmonella spp. in Composting using Vial and Direct Inoculums Technique [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2014
The survival of Salmonella spp. as pathogen indicator in composting was studied. The inoculums technique was used to gives the known amounts of Salmonella spp. involved in composting. The inoculums of Salmonella spp. solution was added directly into the compost material. The direct inoculum was compared with inoculums in vial technique.
