A Multi-Domain Multi-Task Approach for Feature Selection from Bulk RNA Datasets [PDF]
In this paper a multi-domain multi-task algorithm for feature selection in bulk RNAseq data is proposed. Two datasets are investigated arising from mouse host immune response to Salmonella infection. Data is collected from several strains of collaborative cross mice. Samples from the spleen and liver serve as the two domains.

A rapid molecular approach to determining the occurrence of pathogen indicators in compost [PDF]
An accurate method for enumerating pathogen indicators, such as Escherichia coli (E. coli), and Salmonella spp. is important for assessing the safety of compost samples. This study aimed to determine the occurrence of pathogen indicators in compost samples by using a molecular approach known as Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR).

Gene expression in the chicken caecum in response to infections with non-typhoid Salmonella
Chickens can be infected with Salmonella enterica at any time during their life. However, infections within the first hours and days of their life are epidemiologically the most important, as newly hatched chickens are highly sensitive to Salmonella ...

The contact process with semi-infected state on the complete graph [PDF]
In this paper we are concerned with the contact process with semi-infected state on the complete graph $C_n$ with $n$ vertices. In our model, each vertex is in one of three states that `healthy', `semi-infected' or `wholly-infected'. Only wholly-infected vertices can infect others. A healthy vertex becomes semi-infected when being infected while a semi-

Classifying Latent Infection States in Complex Networks [PDF]
Algorithms for identifying the infection states of nodes in a network are crucial for understanding and containing infections. Often, however, only a relatively small set of nodes have a known infection state. Moreover, the length of time that each node has been infected is also unknown.

The Structural Biology and Critical Evaluation of Bacterial Proteases as Targets in New Drug Design [PDF]
Bacteria produce a range of proteolytic enzymes, for which a number human equivalent or structurally similar examples exist and the primary focus of this study was to analyse the published literature to find proteolytic enzymes, specifically endoproteses and to examine the similarity in the substrates that they act on so as to predict a suitable ...
