Modification of aluminium alloys with rare metals – the basis for advanced materials in construction and transport

open access: yesНанотехнологии в строительстве, 2016
The method of process powder injection into aluminum melt shows much promise. Scandium is injected by the high-temperature exchange reaction between the salt melt and aluminum. The best salt compositions were selected.

Salt and Sensitivity [PDF]

open access: yesHypertension, 2013
See related article, p 499–505 Almost 110 years ago, Ambard and Beaujard1 were the first to systematically explore the association between salt intake and blood pressure. They start their article with the following statement (translated from French): “It seems to us that one can say that each individual who is able to retain chloride is, by that very

Adenosine‐to‐inosine editing of miR‐200b‐3p is associated with the progression of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A‐to‐I editing of miRNAs, particularly miR‐200b‐3p, contributes to HGSOC progression by enhancing cancer cell proliferation, migration and 3D growth. The edited form is linked to poorer patient survival and the identification of novel molecular targets.

Isolation and X-ray Structures of Labile Benzoic- and Acetic-Acidium Carbocations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
New carbocationic salts (via O-protonation of substituted benzoic acids) are prepared for the first time by controlled hydration of the corresponding benzoylium salts and isolated in pure crystalline form.

Chiral Modification of the Tetrakis(pentafluorophenyl)borate Anion with Myrtanyl Groups [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The synthesis and characterization of chiral [B(C6F5)4]– derivatives bearing a myrtanyl group instead of a fluoro substituent in the para position are described.

Construction of hyperthermostable d‐allulose 3‐epimerase from Arthrobacter globiformis M30 using the sequence information from Arthrobacter psychrolactophilus

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
d‐Allulose can be produced from d‐fructose by d‐allulose 3‐epimerase. Based on sequence homology information, we successfully engineered thermostable mutants with the protein engineering method. By integrating positive mutations, we constructed an enzyme that exhibits hyperthermostability without a loss in the activity.

Catalysts for polyimide foams from aromatic isocyanates and aromatic dianhydrides [PDF]

open access: yes, 1979
Polyimide foam products having greatly improved burn-through and flame-spread resistance are prepared by the reaction of aromatic polyisocyanates with aromatic dianhydrides in the presence of metallic salts of octoic acid. The salts, for example stannous

Bioactive Phenolate Salts: Thymol Salts

open access: yesChemMedChem, 2023
AbstractPhenolate salts of bioactive agents have been reported only scarcely. This is the first report on the formation and characterization of thymol phenolate salts as representatives of phenol‐containing bioactive molecules. Thymol has been used in medicine and agriculture for decades owing to its excellent therapeutic properties.

Biophysical characterization and ion transport with cell‐based and proteoliposome reconstitution assays of invertebrate K+‐Cl− cotransporters

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The K+‐Cl− cotransporters (KCCs) facilitate the symport of ions across the plasma membrane. They participate in physiological processes including neuronal regulation. Here, we characterized KCCs from Drosophila and Hydra vulgaris. Comparative analyses of transporters provide insights into the mechanism of KCC ion transport, regulation, and evolution ...
