Abstract : From the stem bark of Samanea saman two new compounds have been isolated and characterized as stigma -7, 22-diene-3- O [α-L - arabinopyranaosyl (1 - 2)] - β - galactopyranoside 1 and 19 - hydroxy - octacos -5 -ene -3 one 2 by spectral and chemical studies.
