Cortical integrity changes with cognition, plasma biomarkers and APOE4 status across the adult healthy lifespan [PDF]

open access: yesAlzheimers Dement
Abstract Background The relationship between cognitive age‐related changes and cortical macrostructural properties (i.e., cortical thickness [CTh]) has been extensively studied. However, less is known about the relation with microstructural characteristics (i.e., cortical mean diffusivity [cMD]) even though these are sensitive to preclinical phases of ...

Pharmacophore-Based Discovery of Viral RNA Conformational Modulators

open access: yesPharmaceuticals, 2022
New RNA-binding small-molecule scaffolds are needed to unleash the pharmacological potential of RNA targets. Here we have applied a pharmacophore-based virtual screening approach, seldom used in the RNA recognition field, to identify novel conformational

Transformative Bioactive Wear Resistant Ti3Au:N and Ti3Au:O Coatings for Medical Implants and Devices. [PDF]

open access: yesAdv Healthc Mater
Coatings of titanium‐gold are grown in nitrogen and oxygen environments via magnetron sputtering to simultaneously enhance their biotribological and antibacterial properties. The coatings are highly crystalline with superhard scratch‐resistant surfaces and wear rates 20 times lower than the bare Ti‐6Al‐4V substrate.
